Slowly Isaac walked around his room, just keeping himself busy and passing the time, then started towards the window. "Hmm, nice night." He murmured thoughtfully, but not really caring or paying attention.

Taylor and Zac were sleeping down in the front room that night because of a marathon on Beavis and Butthead. Usually he'd be the first one down there, but tonight just wasn't right. Nothing had been right the last few nights, in all truth, nothing had been right the last month of nights.

"Gotta stay up." He stated, "I just gotta stay awake tonight." He paced for a second then started jumping up and down. "Gotta stay awake. Gotta stay awake." He chanted over and over again as he continued to jump up and down.

"Isaac Hanson," His mom asked opening the door suddenly. "Just what do you think you are doing?" She looked in upon her son.

Instantly Isaac stopped jumping and looked bashfully at his mother. "Sorry, Mom." He grumbled. "Just trying to stay awake. That's all." He explained lamely.

"Well, don't make so much noise. You nearly woke the kids." She warned him gently.

Nodding, Isaac looked around for something else to do to keep himself awake.

"Are you alright, Ike?" Mrs. Hanson asked walking in further into the room. She placed her hand against his forehead much against his protests. "You don't have a fever."

"That's because I'm not sick, Mom." Isaac said agitated. Annoyed by being treated like a mere child.

"Just be quieter, Ike. Okay?" She asked as she went back to the door.

"Yes, Mom." He replied sullenly as he jumped up into his bed. He rolled over and grabbed his book from under his pillow. "Gotta stay awake."

He read for thirty minutes before his eyes started to refuse to stay open. "No, gotta stay awake." He muttered drowsily before his eyes dropped close.

Instantly it became dark, but then a light shone brightly in his eyes. Blinking rapidly he tried to focus on the harsh light. And after a few seconds he could. He started walking towards the dark grey forest behind his house. The moon was so close; he could almost touch it.

Deciding suddenly, that since he couldn't sleep tonight, he was going to go walk to the moon. Wondering how soon it would be before the sun would rise.

The stones and sticks in the forest were beneath his now bare-feet. Scratching and tearing at his tender skin. Ripping the flesh wide open.

But he ignored the biting pain, and continued along the tiny trail.

An opening came and he didn't want to be there anymore. Whatever drove him to that spot now made him angry as he faced the dark greyish-white graveyard. He knew he wasn't supposed to be there. Knew that he hated this place more than any other. Knew that this graveyard was not the one he wouldn't mind staying in.

This one he knew held his own grave.

Slowly Zac started to sit up from his position on the couch. He watched as the figure staggered almost blindly throughout the house. "Tay!" He whispered loudly. "Tay!"

"What?!" Taylor half-whined, half-groaned. He was tired and agitated because he couldn't sleep.

"It's Ike, dude." Zac replied. Still whispering added, "He's doing it again, man."

"Oh God, no." Taylor moaned as he too sat up from his position on the floor.

He and Zac watched as Isaac fumbled with the lock to the front door before unlocking it and walking outside. Shutting the door tightly behind him.

"Man, he's gonna freeze to death out there." Taylor grumbled as he jerked his jeans over his boxers.

Zac instantly started following his lead. While he was busy yanking his combat boots on, Taylor was going for their coats.

Quickly they were both ready and Zac was carrying a blanket for Isaac. "He really needs help with this, Tay." Zac said softly.

Taylor looked down at him. He nodded slowly after a few seconds. "Yeah, I know, Zac. I know." He replied as they both went to the front door and out into the cold snowy night, after their brother.

Isaac started to run along the side of the graveyard. Trying to avoid his fresh new grave. He watched as the reaper stood back and away from it and then started turning towards him.

Turning his back on him, Isaac continued to run until he reached the slightly bluish road. It glowed faintly and the forests now seemed dark and depressive. Shivering from the power of depression, Isaac chose to walk along the road. Careful not to step on it, and not getting too close to the forests.

He looked up he started searching for the moon as it hid behind some clouds. Once it re-appeared he smiled up at it as he watched a star slowly start falling from the bleak sky. Diving, he tried to catch it in his hands, but only succeeded in stumbling over a rock and landing hard onto the blue glowing road.

Angrily cursing himself, Isaac stood up and brushed his pants and his hands. It wasn't rubbing off. The blue dust from the road was now glowing brightly on his hands and his jeans. Angering himself even more.

Frustration grew in his mind, making the thoughts clutter hazardously. He stalked purposely towards the lowering moon. It seemed closer now than before. Slowing down, he started to notice that the scenery wasn't changing all that much. He thought that until he came to a frozen pond.

Smiling, Isaac took a step towards it. He knew it could handle his weight. After all there was a tree standing in the middle of it. He surely weighed a lot less than that tree!

"Zac, hurry." Taylor shouted frantically as they both ran through the chilly weather.

The cold air nearly freezing their lungs as they ran to catch up to Isaac who just took a dive into the snow. They watched as their brother just brushed the snow off and then stare at his hands and legs.

Obscenities flew easily out of Isaac's mouth, they had heard them clearly when they had slowed down for a second. The wind was licking at their skin, harshly biting it.

"Taylor!" Zac shouted as he watched his brother go after his other brother across the icy pond of the backyard. The water wasn't completely frozen. It wasn't even frozen in some places.

Isaac glanced up at the night sky. The moon was almost in his grasp. Just a few more steps and a climb up the tree and it would be his for the taking. People would die to have what he would be holding.

Walking nonchalantly over the ice he started for the tree. Aching to feel the moon in his hand. To have a piece of the heavens in his grasp at least for a moment.

He stood beneath the tree for a moment. Staring up at the moon through the bare branches. Glorifying in the pleasure of just looking at the pale shining orb.

"Taylor, hurry!" Zac shouted hysterically. Fear gripping his body and making it painfully tense.

Taylor heard his brother shouting, but ignored it. Isaac had now stopped walking and was just looking upwards. What is he looking at? He half-wondered as he thought mainly on how to get his brother away.

Quickly he tackled his older brother. Wrestling him to the ground because he started to try and climb the iced over tree.

Once they hit the ice, it cracked loudly. And Taylor instantly stopped moving, but Isaac was still struggling violently.

Taylor felt the ice give way beneath him, barely getting to close his eyes he plunged suddenly in ice cold water. It was painful, so painful; it was as though a thousand knives were stabbing you all at once, their points continuously poking your skin.

Zac shrieked fearfully. Without thinking he started in the direction of Isaac and Taylor, who was now trying to grasp onto the edges of the hole he was in.

He fought to get Isaac awake and comprehending. "Ike!" He shouted as he grabbed his shirt collar, shaking him forcefully.

Isaac fought for a few seconds before letting himself be shaken awake. "Zac?" He questioned as he tried to concentrate on what was happening and where he was. All of a sudden coldness washed over his body in trembling waves. He saw Zac leaning over him and saw Taylor gasping as he tried to stay afloat in ice water.

Without taking notice of how cold he was, he forced his hand to grab the frozen lapels of Taylor's coat and pull with all his might, until his brother was on solid ground again. "What happened?" He asked in a choked voice as the coldness started to get to him. He took the blanket that was meant for him and wrapped it around Taylor. Picking him up with frozen arms he started to carry him back to the house.

"Zac, I asked you a question." Isaac stated, the cold making him stutter.

Zac could only shrug his tired and freezing shoulders. "You were doing it again, Ike. Tay and I came after you. Tay fell through the ice when you fought him."

Isaac shuddered, but not from the cold. His dreams always took an evil turn. Always making him follow something. This was the second time he nearly killed a family member.

The last time…, He thought guiltily. His head shook, The last time it was Mackie.

Mackie had followed him out onto the road, chasing after him while he was chasing another dream… no, nightmare. Only to have been hit by a driver who didn't see him until it was too late. He was still in comatose in the intensive care unit at the hospital down town.

"You need to do something about this, Ike." Zac pleaded, thinking of little Mackenzie as well.

"I'm crazy, Zac." He stated softly, his voice full of regret. "Not much that can be done about it." He murmured ashamedly.

Taylor was driven to the hospital a short while after; him going into comatose as well, his bed being put next to Mackie's.

Zac looked at his two sleeping brothers and then up at Isaac, his oldest one. He was not the same as he was before. Deep violet half moons were fashioning underneath his eyes; standing out against his pale skin as if they were bruises.

"Ike? What is it you see when you dream?" He asked, his tone soft with curiosity.

He sighed quietly and looked heavenward, "Something in the form of reality, Zac." Isaac muttered before he walked off.

His anger with himself and the world consumed him, but his fear of being crazy was stronger. So scared his body trembled with weakness; madness was something definitely to fear, and he did.
