Chapter #27

Dahven sighed in contentment as she stretched out languidly on her bed.

Christmas was over, and no one got hurt or killed… Randy was home for three days then back in Tulsa New Years Eve night. Arie was still there, waiting until after New Years to return to Washington… Life was going okay for the moment.

Smiling to herself, Dahven stood and went to check on Angel. Making sure she was doing okay before she went to change quickly into fresh clothes.

She had caught site of her present before she pulled on a clean shirt and smiled at the remembrance of Isaac's face when he saw it.

'A tattoo!' He had stated in shock.

She had nodded slowly, wondering if in fact; what she did was a good thing.

But after Isaac had stared at it, touched it, and analyzed it, he figured the blue butterfly wasn't so bad after all. He had even said he kinda liked it.

Laughing lightly, Dahven stepped into a pair of jeans, then walked back into her bedroom going for socks. But once she had them out of her drawer, Angel woke up crying. In need of food and a change.

And in an instant, Dahven had supplied them both for her.

Quietly, she started talking to the baby in her arms. "Aphrodite smiled upon my mother, while giving you to this world." Dahven said smiling, as she coddled the infant.

"And I hope that the Muses smile upon you as well. Polyhymnia, the muse of sacred poetry; and Thalia, the muse of comedy."

"You always knew Greek Mythology too well." A voice said softly from her doorway.

Startled, Dahven looked up, and Angel had lifted her head in the same direction. "God, why did you sneak up on me?" She asked her brother quickly. Trying to calm her still racing heart.

Arie had given her a sheepish smile but shrugged his shoulders slightly. "Sorry." He murmured.

"I remember," He said slowly as he walked into the room and touched Angel's head affectionately. "When we were little, you would tell me all about the stories and tales in Greek Mythology."

Dahven looked up at him and grin. "You always listened to me." She replied.

He laughed. "How could I not?" He questioned. "You made it seem so interesting with your own excitement and love for it."

She didn't reply this time. But thought of the days she spent with her brother long before they were both in care of children.

"Talking of Zeus, Aphrodite, Cupid…" He stopped there cause he could name only a few more, but Dahven continued to grin at him anyway.

"I had fun learning and talking about them." She said shrugging simply. "They always fascinated me."

Arie nodded his head slowly. "So I noticed at times."

She smiled up at him again, "So what did you come to talk about?" She asked curiously.

He sighed softly. "I've come to tell you that Essence is pregnant again."

Dahven laughed. "You don't give her much time to recuperate do you?"

When his face flushed a bright red, Dahven laughed some more but ruffled his hair gently. "So whatcha gonna do about it?" She asked as she went and got Angel her green blankie.

"Well, we're going to have it, like we did Jessobel." He said shrugging.

She laughed again; "I kinda knew that."

He smiled at her, "Then why'd you ask?"

"You know what I'm talking about." Dahven told him sternly.

His nod was short, "I know. I'm building up your firm up good, Charm." He told her softly.

Dahven nodded. "I know that."

Arie looked up at her sharply, but his eyes softened in understanding. "I want to continue running it."

"Okay…" She trailed off, knowing that there was more.

"I want to own it." He confessed a second later.

Dahven took a step back and swallowed a large lump. Her mind raced with thoughts. "You'll have to give me time to think it over." She said slowly.

He nodded again, then quietly removed himself from her room.

As if in slow motion, Dahven eventually was able to sit on her bed. Angel still quiet and happy with her bottle of milk. That's what he wanted. Was all her mind allowed her to think.
