Chapter #41

Isaac shifted his feet nervously. His palms were sweating and he couldn't seem to get the damn tie tied!

A deep chuckle invaded his mixed thoughts. Stepping over Zac on the floor tying his dress shoes, he walked over in front of his oldest son.

Grinning he started to tie it for him, "It's quite simple really, Ike."

He smiled weakly, "Yeah, but not when your hands are shaking." Isaac replied as he held up his trembling hands.

Taylor and Zac snickered from their positions in the room.

Patting him on the back after his work was done; Mr. Hanson looked around at his three eldest kids, and little Mackie in the corner trying not to get choked by his tie.

In the other corner, was their guest. Standing silently against the wall, a blank look upon his face.

"Is she ready yet?" Isaac asked mechanically as he thought of what Dahven may look like in a wedding gown.

"Tay, Zac." Mr. Hanson said looking over at them.

Instantly the boys were up and carrying Mackie out with them, the stranger still stood in the corner though. "You're going to treat right, aren't you?" He asked softly.

Mr. Hanson looked up from his son, and glanced over at him.

Isaac did the same. Clearing his throat noisily, he answered, "I love her." He stated. "I'd die if I didn't treat her right."

He nodded slowly. "Somehow I believe you." He admitted. His eyes were downcast, but the pain was still evident in his eyes. "She deserves it."

"She deserves more." Isaac replied defensively.

He continued nodding. Agreeing with him. "I know." He whispered, "I know."

Excusing himself, Mr. Hanson left the room, leaving the two men to talk and discuss whatever was on their minds.

"Really nervous?" He asked smiling, as a shadow covered everything above his mouth.

Isaac shook his head; "I just don't want this to go wrong." He murmured. "I love D, and I can't wait to spend forever with her."

Silence blared loudly in the tiny room now.

A soft knock landed on the door, almost deafening because of the thick solitude.

Mr. Hanson poked his head inside, "It's time boys."

Nodding, Isaac started walking towards the door, "Come on, Arie." He said softly. "It's time to walk your sister down the aisle."

Arie took a deep breath and nodded as well. "Thanks for bringing me here, Ike."

Isaac gave him a weak smile, "I told you. I love D, and I want to see her happy."

The two somehow made a mutual agreement, bonding because of the love they had for the same girl.

Walking towards to the front of the altar, Isaac stood patiently, Taylor and Randy walk side by side, Zac and Linz following, while Kim and Amanda walked alongside Jarrod Gollihare and Brad Becker.

Next he watched in amusement as Mackie escorted Angel and Zoë down the aisle as they dropped the flowers. And then it was time.

Everyone turned around as Arie stood with Dahven at the back of the yard of Christian Courts.

Slowly they started marching down the aisle, and Isaac didn't blink but twice at the beginning, to make sure he wasn't dreaming.

"Who here gives this woman, to this man?" Father Ryan asked smiling happily.

"I do." Arie spoke up after a second, then he took her arm and steered her over to Isaac, who took her arm and wrapped it around his.

"Dearly beloved, we gathered here today, to witness the joining of these two people. As they make a new journey into life together."
