Chapter #8

“Taylor?” Randy started softly.

Her and him were on the couch watching some Disney movie with Jessica, Avery, and Mackie asleep on the floor. Taylor’s head was in her lap, and she unwittingly combed her fingers continuously through his hair.

“Hmmm?” He asked drowsily.

“What do you think our kids would look like?” She asked hesitantly, but distantly as well.

Taylor sat up quickly then. “Why do you ask that?” He questioned his words slow and heavy.

Randy shrugged her thin shoulders. “I dunno, it just popped into my head.”

They were silent for a moment. Then Taylor spoke up, “Maybe our daughter will have long blond hair...” He said grinning at her.

“And probably my blue eyes, and your button nose.” He continued, softly speaking as he touched her nose for emphasis.

She giggled lightly under his touch. “And our son?” She asked raising an eyebrow. “Cause we’re not just having one kid, are we?” Her question made his smile widen.

Taylor shook his head slightly. “No, we are going to have lot’s of kids.” He assured her.

Randy smiled lovingly at him. A thousand and one thoughts were swimming in her mind. But one, was sticking out the most, she loved him.

“Our son...” Taylor trailed off thoughtfully. He turned his eyes towards the ceiling, only to a few seconds turn onto her.

His smile was still stretched out on his lips. “He will have pale blond hair like his mama.” He stated taking a strand of her hair in between his thumb and forefinger.

She watched him intently. Anticipating his description of their son.

“And a pale turquoise eyes too.” He told her as he sat up more, and wrapped his arms around her.

Sighing in content, Randy leaned against his chest. The images still fresh in her mind. She picked up one of his hands and studied it. Then held it up to her own, “You have great hands.” She stated nonchalantly. “Our son will have great hands too.”

Taylor nodded his head. His arms tightening on her. The visions still fresh in his mind. Him, Randy, and two kids, almost mirror images of them. He grinned at the thought.

Isaac was smiling as he walked into his house. Dahven had just dropped him off, and Angel was asleep in the car seat.

So he settled for a goodnight kiss in the car, before thanking her for the birthday dinner and stepping out onto his driveway.

He smiled at her as he placed his hand on her window, and she repeated his action. He backed away slowly, and let her back out of the driveway and then back onto the road. Waving her off, he then walked up to the front door.

Knowing he had a smile on his face, Isaac opened the door and smiled even more. The little ones were asleep on the floor, and Randy and Taylor were asleep on the couch. Holding each other.

Quietly, he carried the little ones to bed, and then woke up his brother. “Hey, sleeping beauty.” He teased.

Taylor smiled slightly, before yawning. “What time is it?” He asked rubbing his eyes with one hand, since the other was being lain on.

“Time to get up.” Isaac replied. He pointed over to Randy.

Nodding, Taylor started to wake her up, and Isaac went into the kitchen. His mother and father had already gone to bed, and Zac was getting ready when he took Mackie upstairs.

He smiled to himself. It had proven to be a very good birthday after all.
