Sabrina II

Sabrina finished up dinner and called the boys in to eat. She went and got the girls up.

“Kelly, sweetie time to get up.” She rocked her two-year-old daughter.

She looked up at her mother from her crib and she stood up quickly.

Sabrina smiled and picked her daughter up. “You hungry, baby?”

“Yes.” She said in her baby voice.

Sabrina got Kelly in her high chair and began to feed her and the other children when the baby cried. She went upstairs and got Kara out of her crib and fed her as well.

After everyone was fed and calmed, she read the kids a story. After watching a little tv the kids were getting ready to go to bed. Sabrina had both girls in bed and the boys were brushing their teeth when the phone rang. She got it before it could wake the kids.

“Hello.”

“Hey.”

“Ike.” She sighed. “How are you?”

“I’m fine. How are you, baby?”

“I’m tired. Tommy, do it like your brother. Up and down. Watch him.”

“How are the kids?”

“Fine...”

“Is that daddy?”

“Yes, it is.”

“Let me talk to him.”

“Yeah, let me talk to daddy too.”

“Ike, here I’m handing the phone over to Mark.”

“Kay hon.”

Sabrina handed the phone over to Mark. The phone looked way too big for his little face.

“Daddy, guess what.”

“What?”

“Today we got to learn about Mr. M. I was special today because my name begins with M. I got a sticker with my name on it.”

“Wow, that’s cool. Did you and mommy put it in the book?”

“Yeah.”

“I want to see it when I get home.”

“Okay, Daddy.”

“Mark, I wanna talk to daddy.”

“Daddy, Tommy wants to talk to you.”

“Okay, let me talk to him.”

“I love you, Daddy.”

“I love you too, Mark.”

Mark handed the phone over to Tommy. “Daddy?”

“Tommy? Hey buddy, how are you doing?”

“I’m okay, Daddy.”

“Have you been a good boy for daddy?”

“Yeah, I been good.”

“Good, I’m proud of you.”

“Love you, Daddy.”

“Love you too, sweetie. Let me talk to your mommy?”

“Mommy, Daddy wants to talk to you.” He handed over the phone to Sabrina.

“Isaac, could you hold on? I’m gonna get the babies to bed.”

“Yeah.” Isaac held on while Sabrina got the kids to bed.

He took off his stage clothes while he was on hold and got ready for bed. Isaac heard a knock on the door. He opened it and Taylor was there.

He motioned for him to come on in. Taylor went to Isaac’s bed and lay down.

“Talking to the wife?”

“She’s putting the little ones to bed.”

Taylor just nodded.

“Have you called your girlfriend?”

“Yeah, about ten minutes ago.”

“Oh. Where’s Zac?”

“He’s asleep.”

“Okay.”

“Good night, babies.”

“Good night, Mommy. Love you.” They both said.

She tucked both into their beds and turned off the lights and closed the door half way. She went into the bathroom and picked up the phone.

“Ike, you still there?”

“Yeah, I’m here. Just talking to Taylor.”

“Oh, tell him I said hi.”

“I will. So what’s been going on today?”

“Not much. The baby sitter thinks she should get more money.”

“She does? Why?”

“I think that she found out that you were famous and she assumes that we have a lot of money and she wants more.”

“Bother.”

“Yeah.”

“Well, if she quits she quits.”

"Isaac, I can’t afford for her to do that. I work during the day.”

“I know, I know. I’m sorry.”

“I think I’m gonna quit at the end of this year.”

“Why?”

“I want to spend time with my family. And we can always consider home-schooling the kids while you are on tour and stuff. I just think that it might be easier.”

“Now wait here…I don’t want you to stop doing something you love because of me.”

“No, no. I want to quit for me. I want more kids. I know the fifth is on the way but if we want to have more I don’t know if I want to keep taking a month off of school for it. I just don’t know.” Isaac sighed.

“We’ll discuss it when I get home.”

"Yeah, I think that would be best. How was the interviews today?”

“Splendid. They were so boring. If I get asked one more time about you guys I’m gonna hurt someone. After the interview the one guy mumbled that I was a bad father for leaving my kids and wife home alone.”

“Jerk.”

“If I hadn’t been on professional behavior I would have said worse.”

“I bet you would have. That man has no idea out situation. He doesn’t know that I teach and that I chose to stay home while you are out with the guys doing promotion. He has no idea.”

“I know, I know.”

“I’m sorry I’m snappy today. It’s been a long day.”

“Sounds like it.”

“I have about a hundred papers to grade and I haven’t started. This baby is making me so sick and I’m tired, and I miss you so much.”

“I miss you too, baby.” They both sighed “Well, I’ll let you go.”

“Okay. I should get some work done.”

“Yeah, don’t stay up too late.”

“I know, I know.”

“Good. I love you, night.”

“I love you too, night.”

They both hung up the phone.
