"Summer's comin' over tomorrow night again." Isaac stated once Zac had walked into their bedroom.

His head bobbed up and down slowly, not really listening. Laying down, his mind wandered, How do I get Mechelle to talk to me? He thought carefully. I could, take her aside in class… no, that's just stupid. And I'd be abusing my teacher privileges… I could, I… I could,

"She said something about her family visiting their grandma, and she just doesn't want to go." Isaac continued on.

Closing his eyes, Zac rolled them. How am I supposed to think with him babbling on consistently? He thought in agitation. Can't he see I'm trying to think of how to get Mechelle to talk to me? Isaac continued on with his update while he typed at Taylor's laptop, "She was also talking about needing to get a job so she could have some extra cash."

Maybe I can get her to be friends with one of my friends there… or ask around about her.

"I think she told mom about looking into some Day Care working…" Isaac looked up to think about that. "At least I think it was something like that."

Zac opened his eyes and glared at his brother. Shut up already, Ike! His mind shouted in aggravation. I'm trying to think here!

Their door opened and Taylor walked in with Mackie in tow. "Ike, Tay said you'd play with me." He said crossing his arms in front of him.

"Aw, Mack." Isaac said looking up apologetically from the computer. "I gotta finish this work for mom."

Mackie instantly sucked his bottom lip into his mouth and started sucking on it.

Zac watched then groaned and rolled off his bed. Wearily holding his hand out to his younger brother he announced, "Come on, Mack. I'll hang with ya, lil' buddy."

Grinning, Mackie took his hand and starting dragging him with all his strength.

Maybe I could bring Mackie to Seymour and Mechelle would like… I dunno think him to be cute or something. Don't all girls think lil' kids are cute? Zac thought as he walked slowly behind him into the playroom. He looked down at his tow headed brother. Nah.

Almost immediately after he sat down he was handed a figurine of some super hero and told to play 'battle.'

They played 'battle' and 'war' and Zac couldn't figure out the difference between the two, and when he asked Mackie about it, he got a huffy response.

Being called to dinner was his get-away.

Jumping to his feet, he playfully raced Mackie to the bathroom to wash their hands and then to the table.

"Have a good day, hun?" Mrs. Hanson asked once everyone was settled down with their meals and prayers had been said.

Zac nodded slowly as he munched carefully on a mouthful of fried chicken and mashed potatoes. "Always have good days there." He said after swallowing.

Smiling at her he took a gulp from his milk before eating again. His thoughts still focused on how to get Mechelle to talk to him. Maybe Summer and her would get along…? His thought trailed off and he shook his head.
