Here's a cute little info list that i stole from someone else's page, thanx Toronto Rave Report :)

RAVE SURVIVAL GUIDE

The Rave Survival Guide is (and will be) a compilation of suggestions and advice about surviving a rave. Questions such as "What should I bring?", "How shall I dress?", and "When is the best time to go?" will all be magically answered. We at TRR suspect that we'll receive a few contradictions here and there, but we think it's worth a shot. So, share your best tips on Rave Survival and others will learn from your experience. Remember, it can be about anything from teasing the dj to going barefoot. We want to hear Do's and Don'ts and Must Haves. Email us NOW!.

Where's the best location for a rave?

1. We want new, interesting, fun locations. Enough with raves at clubs

What kind of rave would be best for first timers, big or small?

1. The first rave you go to should be a smaller one, I believe that they best capture the essence of it all. The bigger ones can be kinda cheesy sometimes, and can feel like you're at a club.
2. Since many people start out going to clubs before hitting a rave, the bigger parties tend to be less intimidating. I took a couple friends to the last Atlantis party (big event) and they loved their first rave. I took one of the same people and some other first time ravers to a smaller, darker party and they felt threatened by it. Perhaps it was location and decorations, but the bigger party with more room and light was a more comfortable introduction.

When is the best time to go to a Rave?

1. Best time to go is at least 1:00 am. If you go any earlier than that, it sucks because there's no one there.
2. Anytime is a good time to go a rave!
3. Show up early enough so you can scope out the venue and locate things, like a good place to stash the backpack, alternate exits, spots where cold air comes in from outside, and running water (optional =]) This is best done at little earlier on (10-11) when the place isn't as packed.

What NOT to do at a Rave?

1. Don't smoke, ingest, or drink anything that isn't yours or you didn't prepare yourself -- ANYTHING could be in there!
2. Don't encourage Gina's to rave.
3. Don't NOT talk to strangers (your there to be social, smarten up!)
4. It's a rave not high school....drop the attitude, no cliques allowed.
5. Stop with the GINSENG....that's right, just give it up!
6. Don't buy glowsticks...you will always find the persons next to you more fun.
7. Don't harrass the Gina's (after all they are people too!)
8. Don't go to a rave and act all superior to everyone else.
9. Don't go just to take drugs - it ain't about that.
10. Don't pay more than 3 fifty for water - What's up with the dollar fifty price hike ??? Did they start putting something in there that makes it special or different from the last weeks water ???
11. Don't slip on the floor.
12. Don't trip on your phat pants - pull em up !! Trust me.
13. Don't forget to dance.
14. *this ones for the companies* Don't pack 3000 people into a space that doesn't fit 3000 people comfortably.
15. Don't stop dancing - tee hee.
16. Don't stop smiling.
17. Don't let go of your glowsticks - it looks neat when it flies across the room but remember it's not a boomerang ;).

What should you NOT bring to a Rave?

1. Leave the attitude at home.
2. Ummm...you shouldn't bring your small pets, (gerbils, hamsters, salamanders) they could get crushed and lost/stolen
3. Never bring anything you can't stand to see get dirty, lost, stolen or pinched by Aliens.
4. Your aging grandparents! Their legs may get cold whilst waiting in line and there for they may not enjoy the goa trance set as much due to sore muscles!
5. Don't bring your wallet, bring only one ID, cash and Credit Card or Calling Card. Just remember that you may lose anything you bring.
6. Try not to bring anything valuable to you that you can't carry on yourself.

What should you wear to a Rave?

1. Jeans or funky pants, short-sleeve shirt (it gets hot)
2. Don't try to look like a Raver, wear jeans and a t-shirt and go to appreciate the music
3. Wear comfortable clothing that can get dirty.
4. Comfortable sneakers
5. Wear clothes with lots of color and texture. Also make sure you are VERY comfortable!
6. Wear a gun holster - I agree it is stupid, but if you are going to wear one buy a water gun to put in it and squirt people that give off bad vibes or mean looks - they deserve it.

What should you not wear to a Rave?

1. Don't wear nice shoes (the floor can get gross)
2. This may be personal opinion but, don't wear a shoulder holster. I've seen it before and I can't understand it. You don't have a gun. That's just - Stupid!

How old should you be to go to a Rave?

1. If you are 13-16 years old, you could get yourself in a bad circle of people who can ruin your life if you get hooked up on drugs
2. No younger than 15-16 depends on your maturity level, things can be overwhelming.
