To sleep or NOT to sleep

This story is one that I'm sure all parents can relate to, especially those with multiples. I have twins, a boy and a girl. They are about 8 months old. My son sleeps through the night and has for quite sometime. He sleeps a good 12 hours. My daughter, on the other hand, is very cranky. Like, ALL DAY LONG! So getting her to sleep is a task. They share the same room with their own cribs. But, everynight my daughter ends up sleeping with me because she starts crying and I can't let her cry too long or she will wake up my son. He only puts up with so much then he starts crying. So, I've been sleeping in our living room on a sofa bed(OUCH!!) waiting for her to cry. Hoping that one night she will just stay asleep. But she doesn't so I go in and scoop her up and bring her to that awful sofa bed and she goes to sleep for the night. We have considered moving her crib and allowing her to cry alittle but my son will hear her no matter where we put her. She doesn't want a bottle at night, she just wants to be with someone.
Well, I'm really growing tired of the sofa bed and I want to rejoin my husband in our bedroom. I'm so scared that she will want to sleep with me till she's 3 or 4. I think I need HELP!!!! Any suggestions?? Thanks in advance.
