2002
Raine watched Jan swining. Jan had never known her dad. Would her dad even want anything to do with her? She saw Taylor and Rodrigo walk up together.
"Jan come here."
"Ok mommy."
Jan was by her side when Taylor and Rodrigo reached her.
"Hi Taylor, Rodrigo. This is my daughter."
Rodrigo bent down and shook her had.
"Hi I'm Rodrigo. What is your name?"
"Janice Marie Hanson, but you can call me Jan."
Rodrigo looked up at Raine tears already streaking his face.
"It was nice to meet you jan but I have to go."
"Your crying. Why don't you get mommy to kiss it and make it better like I do."
"I'm a grown up we can get better without a kiss honey."
"Bye Jan. Bye Raine."
"Rodrigo," Raine called out as he walked away.
He turned.
"I'm sorry."
He didn't respond just turned and walked away. Raine turned her attention back to Taylor. He had taken a seat on the park bench. The shock must have been pretty bad. All of the sudden out of the blue you have a three year old daughter. Jan walked over Taylor and climbed into his lap.
"Mommy said I would meet my daddy today and since the other man left I guessed that your my daddy."
"Yes Jan I'm your daddy."
"Do you love me like mommy does? More than anything."
"Yes honey I love you more than anything."
The young girl gave her dad a hug.
"I like having a daddy."
A tear slid down Taylor's cheek.
"I like having a daughter too."
Raine could only stare. They had bonded just like that so fast. What would happen when Raine adn Jan left? She quickly banished the thought from her mind. She would have to have a talk with Taylor but not right now the sceen of him and his daughter was too perfect. She felt her own tears begin to fall.
