She woke up as her mom parked. She looked around at the lake. It was really pretty. Kinda more a park than a lake tho'. There was a baseball diamond and a small basketball court with various other buildings and stuff around it.
Anne got out so she did too and stretched. As she was stretching a little boy came running towards her. Being with Zac had made her a little paranoid so she jumped back, tripped over the curb and fell down a little hill. She just layed there for a minute wondering why kids 12 and under were trying to kill her now.
"Kyle!! What did you do?!"she heard a voice yell as she sat up.
"Nothing!" a voice, she assumed belonged to Kyle, yelled back defensivly.
She got up and brushed herself off as the kid and a blond girl that looked about her age came running down the hill. "Rollerskates are 10 times easier,"Brittany groaned as Daniel helped her up for at least the 20th time. I hope me and him are on different sides at soccer practice tomorrow Tay thought to himself imagining smacking Daniel with the ball. He smiled. About that time Zac and Kyle came running up. Zac frowned at Daniel and Brittany. Was Daniel trying to steal Tay's woman? That just wasn't gonna work Zac decided silently. They were both blushing but didn't let go. Chris and Kristen had their arms around each other. Brittany smiled at them. Kristen and Chris were exchanging numbers. Brittany wondered if Chris had a girlfriend. She could tell Kristen liked him and would wanna know if she didn't already. She figured she'd ask Daniel. She let go of Taylor's hand and walked over to Daniel. Taylor frowned. Zac frowned. Daniel smirked. Kristens and Chris's mouths were kinda occupied. "6 new messages,"the answering machine announced. She erased Hope and Jen's annoying messages but saved her dad's and Mac's. She grabbed the cordless phone then went to find her mom. She asked if Hope and Jen could come visit. Her mom had no objections so she tried to decide who to call first. She decided to call Jennifer first then let her call Hope on 3-way. They got a flight for 9:45 Monday morning. Which only left them 1 day to pack and stuff but for Hanson they could do it! They decided to hang up and start packing and stuff tho'. They said their goodbyes and hung up. She told Anne when they were coming then called Isaac, Taylor and Zac to tell them the good news. Isaac answered so she just told him to tell the other two and hung up.
"Hi! I'm so sorry about Kyle! What did he do? Well whatever he did he's sorry. Apologive Kyle!"she ordered
"He really didn't do anything,"Brittany protested as Kyle opened his mouth. Hearing that he closed his mouth and smirked at the girl. She glared back.
"I've been around Zac Hanson since i got here and he's dangerous so I'm scared of anything that runs towards me and that's all that Kyle did,"she explained. The girl started grinning.
"Now I understand. Zac does wreck your nerves,"the girl agreed.
"Well my name is Brittany Lowrey. We just moved here,"she introduced herself.
"Oh! So your Brittany. I figured you were. I'm Kristen Hanson,"she introduced. Brittany smiled.
"They were telling me about you! 'Cos i don't know anybody but them,"she told her.
Kristen smiled sympathetically."I bet that does suck,"she told her.
"Yeah."
"Let me go Kristen!"Kyle whined.
"Oh sorry,"she said letting go of his hand. He ran up the hill and into Taylor.
"Watch it little buddy,"he said tapping him on the head. He kept running and tackled Zac to the ground. Zac, ever ready to play took up the fight and soon they were rolling around and yelling.
"Alright then,"he said turning towards Brittany and Kristen,"what were you guys doing down there?"he inquired.
"Nothing,"they told him at the same time.
"Yeah, well some h- Chris! 'Sup?"he shouted. They both looked in the direction he was. A boy in big, baggy Jnco's was standing there in rollerblades waving.
"Too?"the boy questioned.
"Well it's like a family cookout or something,"he explained.
"Ohhh,"the guy said looking around. He laughed when a boy with long blond hair fell.
"Good Daniel!"he called snickering. Daniel flipped him off then got up and skated over.
"Wassup?"he said slapping Tay's hand.
"Not much,"he replied. He noticed Brittany and Kristen just standing there.
"Oh, um Chris, Daniel this is my cousin, Kristen and my new neighbor from Georgia, Brittany. Brittany, Kristen these are my buds Chris and Daniel,"he introduced. They smiled and shook hands.
"So do the 3 of you wanna blade with us?"Chris asked.
"I don't have my blades,"Brittany answered. Kristen nodded to indicate she didn't have hers either.
"Well there is a place down that sidewalk and you can get some there. Like rent 'em,"Daniel told them pointing to a building.
Brittany glanced at Taylor. He caught the look and spoke up for her.
"Brit can't blade to well,"he told them.
"I'll help,"Daniel offered.
"Ok,"she agreed quickly 'cos he was pretty sexy.
"I'm not the best blader either,"Kristen told them.
Chris wiggled his eyebrows and grabbed her hand.
"I shall help you skate my fair Kristen,"he told her in a terrible English accent. She giggled.
"Well ok let's go,"she told them.
Taylor grabbed his bag and they all walked/skated off.
"I think I got it now!"Kristen exclaimed. A few minutes later she screamed and fell. Chris laughed and helped her up.
"You'll get it,"he told her smiling.
She blushed bright red and Brittany smiled to herself. They'll hook up she thought. Taylor grabbed Brittany's hands and helped her skate in a little circle.
"See that was good!"he praised.
"Thanx Taylor,"she said smiling. They were still holding hands. Daniel skated over and unlocked her fingers.
"But I'm helping her,"Daniel stressed grabbing one of her hands and skating off with her. Taylor watched them skate off then looked at Kristen and Chris.
"What the hell?"he asked.
"Daniel stole his woman back,"Chris replied.
"What did I do?"Taylor asked confused. Kristen rolled her eyes at her cousin.
"You and Brittany were holding hands and he didn't like it! Ya know body language and all,"she told him. They heard a shriek then laugh and looked over at Daniel and Brittany. Daniel had picked her up and was skating around with her.
"Talk about body language,"he muttered as Daniel put her down and she giggled and kissed him on the cheek.
"Mom said to come eat!"Zac told them.
"Ok,"Taylor said starting to take his rollerblades off.
"Why don't we just skate back?"Daniel asked skating over.
"Because Brittany and Kristen are probably tired of it,"he replied. Brittany and Kristen both nodded and bent to take their rollerblades off.
Brittany noticed her knee was bleeding. "Nice,"she muttered, wiping at the blood.
"What happened?"Taylor asked.
"One of the thousand times I fell,"she replied.
"When we get back to the picnic area I'll clean it for you,"he told her.
She smiled. He was so sweet! She tied her shoes and stood up.
"Ready to go?"Taylor asked. They all nodded yes and Daniel entwined his fingers with Brittanys. Chris did the same with Kristen.
He thought for a minute then grinned.
"So Daniel. Are you and Brittany hooking up?"he asked casually.
"I don't know. Why?"Daniel asked.
" 'Cos you look funny together,"Zac replied.
Yeah! Tay agreed silently, thinking he'd be nicer to Zac from now on.
"Your too tall for her,"Zac went on. Daniel gave him a look. Zac merely smiled undaunted.
"Now someone say uh I dunno Tay's height would be perfect for her,"Zac continued smiling. Tay started blushing and reconsidering that whole being nicer thing.
"In fact,"Zac said,"let's see how they look,"he took Brittany's hand from Daniel and laced Tay and Brittany's together, pushing them closer to each other.
"Perfect!"Zac exclaimed.
"Cute,"she said thinking out loud.
"I know you guys are,"Zac agreed. Brittany blushed.
"That's not what I was talking about,"she replied.
"Sure, sure,"he replied smiling.
Chris glanced at his watch.
"Well i guess me and Dan better go,"he told them.
"Yeah it's 4:00 already,"Daniel agreed.
"Awww Dan you can't stay! Oh well bye!"Zac told him loudly. Daniel glared at him but Zac just smiled innocently.
"Yeah,"Daniel agreed,"too bad. I'll call you tonight Brit."
"Ok, talk to you then,"she said smiling.
"So what time do you think you'll be home?"Chris asked Kristen.
"Probably 7 or 8,"she replied.
"Alright I'll call you then,"he promised.
"Good,"she told him smiling. He smiled back then kissed her. They smiled at each other.
"Does Chris have a girlfriend,"Brittany asked Daniel.
"Nope. Not unless him and Kristen go out already,"he answered.
"Oh ok."
"So do you and Tay have something going on?"he asked casually.
"Uh uh. Not that I know of,"she replied.
"Well he sure acts like it,"he mumbled,"I just don't wanna make Tay 'cos he did he did know you first and all."
"Well we don't have anything going on,"even though I wish we did she finished silently.
"Well good 'cos now i can do this,"he told her.
"Do what?"she questioned. He leaned over and kissed her.
"That,"he answered.
"Oh,"she said giggling.
"Come on!"Chris yelled and Daniel skated off waving bye. She walked over to where Tay, Zac, and Kristen were standing.
"Ready to go?"she asked smiling. Tay just walked off.
"He is so tempremental!"she exclaimed. Zac nodded in agreement. Kristen just shrugged.
"Well let's go,"Kristen told them. They all walked off and Zac and Kyle ran to catch up with Taylor.
"So do you like Tay or Daniel?"Kristen asked.
"I dunno. Daniel acts like he likes me,"she hedged.
"Yeah but so does Taylor,"Kristen pointed out.
"Not really. So what about you and Chris?"Brittany asked changing the subject.
"Tay's shy,"Kristen said defending her cousin,"but I like Chris alot!"she confided.
"I knew you did!"Brittany exclaimed. They chattered about Kristen and Chris the rest of they way back.
Brittany pushed play.
"Brittany you were gonna call about me and Jen coming up!"Hope's voice fussed,"Call when you decide to come home! Geez!"
Brittany rolled her eyes and waited for the next message.
"Do you know what time it is? It's time for you to get home from wherever you are and call me back! Hope called already and you didn't call her back. So pick up your little phone and call!"Jennifer ordered.
Brittany rolled her eyes again.
"This is ridiculous! You weren't gone this much at home!"Hope's voice complained,"call me!"
"God,"Brittany muttered.
"I'm still waiting! It is 5:30! I called the first time at 1:30! I'm gonna keep calling 'til you pick up or call back! Bye!"Jennifer snapped.
Brittany tapped her fingers on the table annoyedly.
"Sweetie? It's dad. How you liking things? Well I'll be going out of town at 6:00. If you get home before then call me back. If not I'll call you again when I get back. Love ya honey. Bye bye."
She looked at her watch. It read 6:30.
"Stupid cookout,"she mumbled. The last message was Mac telling Anne to call him.
She dialed the number. It only rang once.
"Finally!"Jennifer snapped as a greeting.
"Gee Jen i love hearing your voice too,"Brittany told her in a sugary sweet voice.
"Whatever. So what's up with us coming?"Jennifer asked impatiently.
"Call Hope on 3-way first."
Jen clicked over and called. Brittany's Unlce James answered.
"Hey Uncle James!"Brittany greeted cheerfully.
"Hi hun! How do you like it in Oklahoma?"he asked.
"It's ok i guess,"she replied.
"That's what the map says!"he joked laughing at his own horrible joke.
"Uh yeah it sure does,"she responded, forcing a laugh at his joke,"but can i speak to Hope?"
"Yeah she's standing here frowning at me,"he answered.
She laughed. "Ok! Bye Uncle James, love you."
"Love you too sweetie. Here's Hope,"he said handing the phone to Hope.
"Hello?"
"Hey Hope!"
"Hey Brittany can I come? Mom and dad said I can,"Hope told her.
"Yes you can both come,"she told both of them.
They both started yelling and screaming happily. Brit laughed.
"I can't wait!"Jen exclaimed.
"Me neither!"Hope and Brittany yelled at the same time. They talked for about 10 minutes then Jen's mom called about plane tickets on her line.
She flopped back on the bed and smiled anticipating Monday.
