{Alexander Graham Bell}

Have you ever wondered what it would be like if you had no telephone, or cellphones? Imagine making a half hour trip to your friends house just to give them a simple mesage when the same thing could have been done in minutes by telephone in the comfort of your own home. Thanks to Alaxander Graham Bell, communication has been made fast and easy.

Alexander Graham Bell was born March 3,1847 in Edinberg Scotland and died August 2,1922. He had 2 brothers who died of tuberculosis. For Alexanders protection of catching disease in London his family moved to Brandford Ontario and in 1871 to Boston Masschusetts. Alaxanders father and Grandfather were teachers of death people. Alexanders father developed “visible speech” which helped death people speak. As a kid Alexander was taught school at home with his 2 brothers . Before he moved to north America in London he would research in his Grandfathers library about speach and vibrations. Alexander was married to Mabel Hubbard (death person) and had two daughters. {Bell Demonstration}

Bell probably learned things by studying on his own but he did study at Edinberg and London Universities. He took after his father of course. He was a teacher of the death people using his fathers method called “visible speech”. He also inherited music from his mother and at the age of 16 Alexander was teaching music and speech at a bos school. After he invented the telephone Alaxander still taught the death people, experiminted with breeding sheep, and in the 1890’s he did some experiments with human flight (airplanes) and also experimented sound traveling in lightwaves.

Now that we have discussed Alexander Graham Bells Backround information we will now discuss how he stumbled upon the telephone. During his studies of speech Alexander discovered the wrightings of Helmholtz who uses electricity vibrations for sound vowels. Reading this Alexander began experimenting on electricity so he can do Helmholtz experiments. By doing these experiments Alexander came to the idea of an harmonic telegraph which can cary several measages on one wire at the same time.

He had two problems however. He needed a way to continuosly send a electricity current and something that would vibrate to send or receive messages. After futher experiments Alaxander needed money to conduct futher experiments. Grandiner Hubbard having a death daughter and Thomas Sanders having a death son loaned Alexander money to for his experiments agreeing to make money on the profits of Alexanders inventions. With the money Alaxander got an assistant named Thomas A.Whatson and continued his experiments. After extensive research and experimentins in 1874 Alexander came upon the idea of the telephone. A way that the electrical current could varry. Experiments later Alaxander wanted to work on the telegraph but all his experiments were heading in the direction of the telephone. Alaxander knew that he was close to getting to perfect the telephone.

Sucess hit on a March 10,1876 in a labratory in Boston at a boarding house when the first words on the telephone were said “Mr. Whatson, come here, I want you” He was less than 30 yrs old when he invented the telephone. In 1877 Bell phone company was in use and phones were also. Bell did not take part in the company.

Thanks to Alexander Graham Bell phones are being used world wide for endless things. There’s now satelite communication, overseas, modens, internet, cellphones and it’s all thanks to Alexander Graham Bell.
