THE MAN CALLED JESUS

This man we know as Jesus is the Son of God and is the Son of Man. He was born of a virgin that was named Mary. She was the one chosen by God to bore His Son. Mary is the decendant of Nathan, the son of King David (Luke 3). Her husband Joseph is Jesus' step-father; but he was chosen by God also for Joseph came from the lineage of Solomon, who is the son of King David (Matthew 1). There is purity here folks! The perfection of God's plan right here in the lineage of Jesus, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

Jesus is known as many names throughout the entire bible. From Genesis through Revelation! He is referred to as the "Rock" in Isaiah 26:4. It says: "Trust in the Lord, the Lord, is the Rock eternal." In 1 Corinthians 10:3-4 it refers to Christ as the Rock, it says "They all ate the same spiritual food, and drank the same spiritual drink; for they drank from the spiritual rock that accompanied them, and that rock was Christ."

In Psalm 19:14 He is called not just the Rock but our Redeemer. The verse says this; "May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer."

Isaiah 44:6 says "This is what the Lord says--Israel's King and Redeemer, the Lord Almighty: I am the first and I am the last; apart from me there is no God." In chapter 48 verse 17 says "This is what the Lord says--your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: I am the Lord your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go."

Here in the verses quoted above Jesus is called the "Lord Almighty", the "Holy One". There are many many names that Jesus has throughout the bible. Just search and you shall find them. These are just a few of them for you to see.

Jesus was God in the flesh. He was sent to the earth to be "our example" to follow. Life was not how God intended for it to be. Look how the people started worshipping other gods. They would worship idols, themselves as gods. The commandment in Exdous 20:1-6 says this: "And God spoke all these words: I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery. You shall have no other gods before me. You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments."

So, God sent us His Son to teach us how we are to live. How we are to be like Jesus. Jesus walked and dine with sinners. He didn't walk with saints. Jesus reflected the love of our Father. He taught how to have LOVE like He LOVES. He taught us how to have FAITH. He gave us two commandments to follow they are to love God and obey Him, and to love our neighbors like we want to be loved.

In John 1:1 it says: "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." Let us remove Word and replace with Jesus. In the beginning was Jesus, and Jesus was with God, and Jesus was God. (Another name for Jesus is the Word) So, Jesus is God in the flesh, who came to earth to show the people the power in which God is. Nobody can enter the gates but through the Son of God, through accepting Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior. In John 14:6 reads: "Jesus answered, I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."

Jesus said in John 15:1-8 "I am the true vine and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. You are alreay clean because of the word I have spoken to you. Remain in me, and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. If anyone does not remain in me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you. This is to my father's glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples."

Here Jesus is called the "vine"; we are the "branches". If we don't have Jesus as our Savior we are those branches that will fall off the "vine" and wither away to be piled together to be burned. We that have Jesus will be pruned from time to time in order for us to bear much fruit. Do you want to be a branch on the "vine" that withers and falls away? Or do you want to be the branch that will bear many fruit and be pruned like a rose bush gets prune to bear more roses?

Jesus is the "bridegroom" that one day will return for His "bride";(the "church" the "true body of believers"). Matthew 25:1 "At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom." (Jesus)
verse 6: "At midnight the cry rang out: Here come's the bridegroom! Come out to meet him!" In this chapter it states that five of the wise virgins had oil in their lamps and extra in their jars. The foolish virgins that remain just had oil in their lamps. Which do you want to represent the five wise virgins or the five foolish virgins?

Jesus suffered a death that none would want to suffer. He was judged wrongfully for "us", He hung on a cross nails driven in His hands and feet. His side was pierced, a crown of thorns was placed upon His head. He had not done anything wrong, He was placed upon that cross for you and for me. He suffered the death that was meant for us, those that sin and go against the law of God. Is there anyone that would do this today for the entire population of this world? I say NOT! Upon His death they buried Him in a tomb, placed a huge boulder to block the entrance, placed two guards outside so His body would not be removed.

Three days passed! The guards had fallen asleep on duty, low and behold when the guards woke the stone boulder had been rolled away. Inside was just the cloth that He was wrapped in, folded, was all that was there. Jesus rose from the dead for you and I to have eternal life in heaven with Him and His Father. He is truly the Son of God! He came to earth in the fleshly body we are today, but His body quickly changed and resurrected into heaven. Like our bodies will be quickly changed, in the twinkling of an eye on that day He returns in the clouds to gather those that are the "true believers" of Him. Are you a "true believer"? When the day is at hand will you be one that will be caught up to meet our Bridegoom in the clouds? 1 Corinthians 15:51-54 "Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed--in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality. When the perishable has been clothed with the impersihable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: 'Death has been swallowed up in victory."

The hour is close at hand, the harvest fields are ready for harvesting. Soon the wheat shall be separated by the weeds. The wheat represence those that are His "true believers", the weeds those that have rejected Him. Which are you? Be on guard! The day is coming and soon approaching for the Bridegroom to come gather His bride.

Matthew 12:40 Jesus says "You also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him." 1 Thessalonians 5:2 "For you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night." 2 Peter 3:8-10 "But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years is like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come like a thief." Are you ready to be received by the Son of Man?
Matthew 24:36 says "No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father." That day the Father will say Son go get my children. Are you ready!!!!!!!!

We in Christ have the VICTORY!!!
