Regardless what we do, NOTHING is hidden from God. No sin IS justifiable to God, no sin IS hidden from God. In Amos chapter 9, it is about "Destroying of Israel/Restoration of Israel". The Lord is standing by the altar and says: "Strike the tops of the pillars, so that the thresholds shake. Bring them down on the heads of all the people; those who are left I will kill with the sword. Not one will get away, none will escape."
There will not be one place that any shall be able to hide. In the v3 He says not even the depth of the sea can anyone hide. He will still find them. No not one place will be safe from the wrath of God. Those with whom think they can hide, are fools. These are those in whom does not believe God is God the Creator of this world, universe, of all. No person will ESCAPE God's judgment.
God says in v9 that He will shake the nation of Israel like shaking pebbles and unwanted debris from grains of wheat. This v9 reminds me of when the harvest is upon us...(the parable of the grounding of the seed, in Mark 4)..those that are not of God will be shaken loose and destroyed, those of God shall be removed and taken up with God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Why?, look at v10 it says: "All the sinners among my people will die by the sword, all those who say 'Disaster will not overtake or meet us.' "
Those that are persistent rebellion people. Those in whom deny the Father, and have chosen the ways of this earth, the ways of the slithering creature we all know as satan; whom is the father of this earthly evil ways.
There is a promise however here in Amos chapter 9, starting with v11. The rise of Israel, the rebuilding of God's chosen place. God brings blessing after His judgment has taken place. The rebuilding will be the "hut" of David's and Solomon's beginning, or the united kingdom of the 12 tribes of Israel.
v12 is about the reign of the anointed King that is coming. Jesus!!! The fulfillment of the "Abrahamic and Davidic covenants". For David had the reign of many nations that surrounds Israel. Those that bear the name of God will have the pouring out of His blessings on those that wear His name, bear His name, Their names, upon their hearts. Folks this is not just Israel but all nations and peoples that proclaim God as the God of Creation. That has proclaimed the anointing King as Savior of their lives.
The seasons shall come together with new planting and sowing, the productive growth will not end. God will see that His people will never be destroyed again once Israel is fully and finally restored back to His original plan. Folks it is almost complete! The prophecy came to passed in 1948 when the city of Israel was rebulit. The temple is almost back to the way it was originally. So, the harvest timing is almost here, soon to come to pass for the harvesting is almost ready to start.
In Matthew, the Pharisees asked what will the signs be?, they were testing Jesus. Jesus replied with, the wicked and adulterous generation will see only the one sign; the sign of Jonah. He said in the first part of Matthew 16:2, they can see the sky in the evening if red they know it is fair weather, in the morning if the sky is red foul weather is upon them. They will not see the other signs that are appearing every where....for the wicked see only the sign of Jonah. We hear about prophecies fulfilling, but until we dig in the Word to make sure it is what falls upon our ears; how can we be sure it has happened. We must get in the Word and dig, dig, dig, to see what is written, what has come to passed in our generation. The generation that will not see all physical death. We can not just go by what we hear from others, for others may just give half truths, not full truth from scripture. We need to read, study, memorize, meditate, and apply....just like what a pastor told shared one Sunday in service.
The child of God see the prophecies fulfilling throughout......just like in the song "Midnight Cry"......the prophecies are being fulfilled...let's get ready, never stopping to reach the lost.....lets prepare for the banquet table is ALREADY set.
