Good day my fellow brothers and sisters, once again I am writing on the devotion of my time with our Lord Jesus. I hope you all enjoy what the Holy Spirit has brought to life in this devotion. Remember I love you!

Revelation 5:1-13

The title of this is "The Scroll and the Lamb"

Who is worthy to open this scroll that is in the right hand of him who sits on the throne of glory? Nobody in heaven, on earth, underneath the earth, or in the sea is worthy to open the scroll and seven seals that has writing on both sides. However, in v5 it does tell us who is worthy to open this scroll. v5 "Then one of the elders said to me, 'Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals.' Who is WORTHY? Jesus Christ, for He is 'the Lion of the tribe of Judah', the root of David. Praise God!

If you turn and read in Matthew 1 and Luke 3 the genealogy of Christ, you will see here that God's plan was perfect down these generations to have His Son be perfect in all ways. From the lineage of David, on Joseph's side, to the lineage of Mary from Adam. His plan was that Jesus would be and is the only one WORTHY to open the seven seals and the scroll here in Revelation. WOW what an AWESOME God we serve!

If you turn to Genesis 49:8-10 it states that Judah is named 'the lion's cub'. Now in v9 it tells us that Judah (Israel) is a symbol of sovereignty, strength, and courage. Judah the fourth son of Leah, the son of Jacob was chosen to be the leader, for his older brothers forfeit their roles to be the leader. He is often pictured as the lion's cub throughout the Word of God....some passage pertaining to this are Eze 19:1-7, Mic 5:8, and especially Num 24:9. From Judah the greatest of all descendant came Jesus Christ, in whom was called 'the Lion of the tribe of Judah'.

Jesus is known as the Lamb in v6. Why? For the lamb was the symbol of slaughtering for sins in the Old Testament....they would sacrifice a lamb for their sins. In the New Testament it tells us that Jesus was slain for our sins, so He is the Lamb that was sacrificed upon the cross for us. He bore the stripes upon His back, the pierced side, and wore a thorn crown upon His head. Why? For He sacrificed His life for me, you, all of the children of God, for those children that are still lost. The marks of slaughter, represents POWER through His death.

When the passage speaks of the horns, this is a symbol of the Jewish custom that represents strength and power. Seven horns symbolizes full strength, fullness, completeness, perfection. In v13 it says: "Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them singing: To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power, for ever and ever!" This is telling us 'that this is a conventional phrase used to express the universality of the proclamation--no creature was worthy.' But, Father's mighty plan made it possible to have one who is WORTHY. Glory bumps here!!!!!!!!

So in v14 'the four creatures said "Amen" and the elders fell down and worshiped.' As we should all fall down and worship the Lamb, 'the Lion of the tribe of Judah'. For He is the only one who is WORTHY.

Praise Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We may inherit the kingdom for Jesus is the only one Worthy, He died for us so we can live eternal in heaven with God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

The beginning!!!!!!!!!!!
