Two Trees

Why we can't solve our problems? In the garden of Eden are "two trees"! God created us in His image. In Genesis 1:6 it says "And God said, Let there be an expanse between the waters to separate water from water."

Eden means delightful, restful or idylillic. In this garden are two trees one is the "Tree of Life", the other is the "Tree of Knowledge of good and evil". Genesis 2:9 "And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil." Genesis 2:16-17 "And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die."

For man to make this choice, man had to have the ability to think and have free choice. Turn to Deuteronomy 30:19-20 "I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, [that] I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live: That thou mayest love the LORD thy God, [and] that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he [is] thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them." Receive "full abundant and rewarding LIFE".

We live with choices we make look at Galatians 6:7 "Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap." In Genesis 3:1-5 satan enters the scene, turn if you will and read: "Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: But of the fruit of the tree which [is] in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil."

The most "subtle" aspect of satan's arguement eating the "fruit" would make one wise. Satan offered anoter way to gain knowledge. He knew this would cutoff man from God, he knew the end result would be no happiness and wisdom but "shame". Turn to Genesis 3:7 "And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they [were] naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons. 11 And he said, Who told thee that thou [wast] naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat 13 And the LORD God said unto the woman, What [is] this [that] thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat ,and 24 So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life." God revealed truth with The Tree of Life, embodied God's Way. Instruction given - gift of eternal life; with this there will be peace, love, no sin, no death, no pain.

In Jude 1:7 it says "Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire." Way of Cain--greed, opression, exploitation, rejection of God and His teachings. See end result- before the fall was painless and not difficulty. Outcome of generationss of "bad" decisions and deception trigger the outcome.

Jesus prophesied His coming would be "as the Day of Noah". Matthew 24:37-39 "But as the days of Noah [were], so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be." Proverbs 16:25 "There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof [are] the ways of death." There is a better way- God's Way, Christ is that "Way". Look up Revelation 22:14 "Blessed [are] they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city." Revelation 22:1-2 "And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, [was there] the tree of life, which bare twelve [manner of] fruits, [and] yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree [were] for the healing of the nations." Christ will "restore", H is our "free access" for all mandkind.

Revelation 5:10 "And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth."

Isaiah 11:9 "They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea."

Other scripture to study on this are listed:

Acts 2:38, Proverbs 3:8, 11:30, 13:12, Revelation 2:7, Matthew 3:10, 17-19, Romans 8:11, Ezekiel 152, Proverbs 154

Jesus hung on a tree--also to reclaim it as the "Tree of Life" given back through His death. For us to partake. Galatians 3:13 "Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed [is] every one that hangeth on a tree"

Acts 5:30 "The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew and hanged on a tree."
