" I was watching Jordie, and I decided to take her to the park. We went to the sand box and started building sand castles and things like that. There was a little boy about the age of 12 or so, he was on the monkey bars and fell. I heard him scream so I stood up imediately and went to his side. I started asking him questions and he told me that he couldn't move his leg cause it hurt too much. I figured he broke his leg. I asked him if his mom was there and he said no, that he lived across the street. At the time no one was around, I was going to bring him over to his house myself. When I went back to the sand box..." My voice trailed off and I took a deep breath.
" Its all right, just take your time." Brian told me taking my hand. I smiled up at him.
" When I went back, she wasn't there. Figuring she just went to the slide or something I started looking everywhere. But I couldn't find her, I saw a woman with her her little boy and girl and went up to her. I asked her if she had seen Jordie. When she said no, I started to panic. I also told her about the boy and I guess she helped him out. I started looking everywhere but by the time it was dark, I knew she was gone. I went home told my aunt about what happend, we called the police, and they started searching." I sighed and looked at Jordan. " A few weeks past and we recieved a call that someone found a little girl in an abanded house. When she wasn't by my side, the same feelings, that I had the day she was missing, came back to me."
Tears filled my eyes.
" The doctors said that she would be fine, but she is so shy, she hasn't talked about it, but she use to have nightmares. All because I hadn't been watching her."
I closed my eyes and a few tears came down my cheeks. I felt Brian's arms wrap around me.
" She's safe now, it wasn't your fault then, and it wasn't tonight. Bad things happen. Its all over." He whispered in my ear, this cause me to shiver a little. " Are you cold?"
" Just a little."
"Here, you can wear this." He handed me his sweatshirt.
" Thank you, not just for the sweat shirt either." I looked into his eyes, a girl could die right on the spot.
" You're welcome, I was wondering..." He was cut off by a bunch of noise entering the room.
