All the guys and AJ's girlfriend Mandy were waiting in the lobby for Brian.
"What is taking him so long?" asked Kevin.
"He's probably just relaxing, thinking of his boring Christian life and how clubbing is so satanic or something," Nick said.
All the guys and Mandy glared at him.
'Why would Nick say that about his best friend?' Howie wondered. 'First AJ, now Nick. What are we gonna do about all this shit?'
Howie kept all of his thoughts to himself. Because he knew if he told Kev and/or Brian, they wouldn't beleive that AJ was acting like that to him, he told AJ, AJ'd hate him even. more, probably quit the group, and they'd never see him again.
After 10 more minutes, Brian came down. "What took ya so long man?" Nick asked, annoyance in his voice.
"I had to take a shower. Who wants to go to a club all sweaty?"
"Probably a jerk like you," mumbled AJ, hoping Brian didn't hear him. >[?AJ was in luck, but D. and Kev heard, and gave each other the 'what's up with him look'. Mandy also heard and was proud of her boyfriend, for she never did like Brian, Kev or Howie. When they got to the club, it was completely full.
"Thanks a lot, Bri," AJ mumbled, but this time Brian heard him.
"'Cmon, man! Cut me some slack!" he said in a one of those New York accents.
"Ya know Bri, you don't seem so funny anymore. I mean, now that crap sounds so dumb. Why don't you just give up all the shitty jokes and act normal?"
Brian had the look of hurt in his eyes. 'Why would he say that to me? ME? I mean, what'd I do?'
Mandy kissed AJ softly as they entered a parking spot after waiting about 5 minutes searching the parking lot.
After about 2 hours of partying, Brian had had enough for one night.
"Guys, it's almost midnight. Don't you think we should get going?"
"Man! I was just starting to have fun!," whined AJ as he squeezed Mandy's butt and she giggled.
Nick just groaned and rolled his eyes at them.
"Yeah, Bri's right. We really should go," Kevin said, " 'cuz we have a show tomorrow night. Remember?"
"Awe man! Do we have to go?"
"Yes, AJ," Howie replied, kinda worried at what he'd do next.
"Hey, why should I listen to you Howie? All you are is a little sheep with two legs!"
Brian and Kevin had never seen AJ make such a mean joke.
"AJ, get in the car," Kevin commanded.
"Why should I-"
"Just do it!!!"
AJ held his hands out in front of him as he got in the car. "Okay, whatever you say, Kev."
Howie had had a really hard last few days, especially with AJ yelling at him. He stripped down to his boxers, got in bed and dozed off a few seconds after his head hit the pillow. The next day, Howie went into the lobby for some breakfast, and in the process saw Mandy walking towards him. When she got there, she said,
"Hey D.! Great morning, isn't it?"
"Yeah, real great," he mumbled, still half asleep.
"Hey, since no one else is awake, wanna eat breakfast with me?"
"Ummm... Sure," he said finally.
"Great! Lets sit here."
She said, sitting down at a table for two.
"Fine by me," said Howie, plopping himself into his chair. As they were waiting for their food to come, Mandy and Howie were leaning across the table, talking to each other, but only 'cuz they were both bored out of their brains. Then when Howie looked at his watch and figured the rest of the guys would be up soon, and if they AJ saw him with Mandy, he might get mad.
"Well, I should go. I mean, the rest of the guys will be up soon."
"Yeah, I guess you're right," she said in a sexy voice, standing up and tilting one hip to the left, trying to draw Howie's attantion by it. "Howie, will you give me a good bye kiss in the lips? Just a short one?"
"Ummm..." Howie hesitated for a moment, wondering if he should or not. "Sure." He gave her a quick kiss on the lips, thinking that she might possibly like him.
But he didn't know how wrong he was. What he didn't know was that AJ had been watching the whole time, and Mandy wanted him to kiss her so AJ would get jealouse and get mad at Howie. Howie practically floated out of the room, for this was the best thing that had happened to him for a matter of weeks.
But when he got the the elevaor to go back to his hotel room, AJ was standing there.
"Howie, we really need to talk," said AJ in a low, raspy voice. And that was all he said before he shoved Howie into the open elevator as it made it's way up to the 3rd floor.
