Chapter 10

Was I nervous? Of course. This was Party of Five. When I walked in, I was greeted by a room of girls, 15-20, with their real hair. Self-conciously, I put a hand to my head.

"You're hair looks real," Sholanda mumbled. "Food table?" I nodded.

At the table, I grabbed some crackers and started crunching. "Hi," said a brunnete, bouncing up to me.

"Hi," I said.

"Can I ask you a question?" I nodded. "How did you ever get so thin? Like, I keep trying and trying and I just can't get down."

"Well, ya know, it was so much fun. All I had to do was get this thing called leukemia and got put on chemotherapy and pucked out my guts and lost all of my hair," I yanked off my wig. "And vala! Look at me."

She looked at me oddly and walked away. I whooped and put my wig back on. Sholanda laughed behind me.

So I auditioned. I felt it went pretty good especially when they asked me to do the scene over with Lacey Chabert. From what I know, that's a pretty good sign.

The next day, we were on the set of the Boys new video. I was working on Trig (ugh). Suddenly, Beethoven's 5th Symphony was play. For a moment, I was confused until I remember it's was Dad cell phone.

"Hello?"

"Is this Drew Richardson?"

"Yes."

"This is Amy, from Party of Five. I'm calling to tell you that you'll be playing Lisa in two episodes."

"I will?"

"Yes."

I covered up the speaker and screamed. Nick and Dad rushed into the room and Sholanda looked up from her book. "I got the part." I took my hand of the speaker. "Thank you."

"You're welcome. May I please speak to your parent or guardian?"

I handed the phone to Dad who stayed on the phone for about five minutes.

"Taping starts in two weeks and they're sending the scripts to the hotel as we speak."

"Can I please, please, please go back there?"

"I guess. Sho, please go with her."

"Of course."

We gathered up our things and left the set. Two days later, Dad and I got in a little fight.
