"I do not want my 16 year old daughter making out with a 26 year old man!"
"It's not making out! It's one kiss! It's also just acting. It's harmless. There aren't even going to be tongues."
"He's so much older than you."
"What does age have to do with anything?" I shot back sharply. Everyone else in the room gave me a warning look. "I mean, I'm sure you've kissed a woman younger than you," I said quieter.
"No that much."
"But you have, haven't you?"
Suddenly he was blushing and Sholanda squirmed next to me. "Why don't we drop it for now?" she suggested. Kevin nodded and I looked at them suspiciously. I definitely needed to have a talk with Brian.

Late that night, when everyone was in bed, I left my room and walked down to Brian's. I knocked softly and he opened the door.
"What are you doing here?"
"I need to talk to you." He opened the door and I walked in. I sat down on the couch and he sat next to me.
"What do you need to talk about?"
"What's up with Dad and Sholanda?"
"What do you mean?" he asked, innocently.
"Don't play dumb. Everyone saw how uncomfortable when I was talking about the kiss."
"You really want to know?" I nodded. "Remember that time in New York when me and Leigh Anne were supposed to watch you?"
"And she talked you into letting me go down to the pool and I met that really hot guy…"
"Yeah-not the point. See, Kev and Landa saw each other at the club and the sorta kissed."
My jaw dropped. "Wow."
"Yeah, but you didn't here it from me. They didn't want you to know."
"You mean everyone else know."
"Basically, yeah."
"Wow. Well, I guess I should get back to my room." I walked to the door. "Bye."
"Bye."
