"Drew, get out here," Dad called to me from the living room.
I put the last syrup-covered sausage in my mouth and drank down the orange juice. Then I went out into the living room. Dad was talking to my new tutor.
'One of the guys must have helped Dad pick her out,' I thought. I was willing to bet Nick and Brian. She was just out of college, Dad had told me. She had long brown, almost black hair that Nick liked, violet eyes which Brian, and AJ too, would have loved.
"Shalonda, this is Drew. Drew, Shalonda is your new tutor."
"No kidding," I said. "I thought she was the president."
Dad gave me a look but Shalonda laughed.
"Good to meet you," she said. She stuck her hand out and I shook it.
"I hope you know what you're getting into," I told her sitting down.
"Why? Are you a trouble maker?"
"I'm not too bad," I told her, grinning. I couldn't help but think of all the doctors charts I had hidden in the hospital and the number of times things belonging to the guys had mysteriously disappeared and then reappeared when I was around. "But that's not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about tours. I've gone to a couple concerts and the screaming is terrible. And then they get to meet the guys and they start crying or faint or something stupid."
"I think I should be able to handle it."
So, for about the next hour, Shalonda and I got to know each other. Then Leslie came to get me and we went to the mall.
