Chapter 5

That afternoon, they moved all of Rose and Bryan's stuff to Justin's. They put Bryan in the bedroom across next to Justin's and Rose in the one across from that. When Bryan was sleeping, Justin and Rose were talking.

"I think you guys should love here for awhile," Justin was teeling Rose when I got back there.

"You won't mind? He gets pretty loud."

"I won't care. He's my son."

"You know what though? We're going to have to find a babysitter. I mean, you'll be spending a lot of time with Joey and I have to find a job."

"I could call JC and ask him to recommend a babysitter," said Justin.

All of the sudden, I got a really good idea. I zapped myself to Justin's front door and made myself visible. Then I knocked on the door. Justin opened it.

"Hi," I said. "My name's Mariah. I'm new in the neighborhood and, well, I'm a babysitter."

"Really?"

"Yeah."

"Well, come in. I'm going to need a sitter pretty soon."

Justin opened the door wider and I stepped into the house.

"Nice house," I said, looking around, pretending I had never been inside it before.

"Thanks," he said and then he lead me to the living room where Rose was.

"Rose," he said as we walked into the room, "you'll never believe what was at the door."

"What?" she asked. 'Please don't tell me this is his girlfriend,' I heard her think.

"This is Mariah and she's a babysitter."

"Really? Gosh, we got lucky. I'm Rose and this is Justin. So what qualifications do you have?" she asked me. She gestured for me to sit on the couch.

"I've been babysitting since I was 12, I'm 19 now, and I'm planning to be a doctor," I told her. At least I didn't lie. I had been planning on being a doctor.

"Impressive," said Rose. "We have a little boy by who's five months old but he's sleeping right now."

"So how soon can you start?" asked Justin.

"As soon as you need me."

"We are so lucky," said Rose. "You're like a God send."

'You have no idea,' I thought.
