That night, Caroline and I planned to invade Rachel's dreams. The plan was to scare her into either telling Lance the truth, dumping her other boyfriend, or to dump Lance. Whatever the circumstance, we couldn't let her keep going on with two boyfriends.
About midnight, we zapped ourselves into Rachel's apartment.
"You ready to do this?" asked Caroline.
"As ready as I'll ever be," I told her. We entered Rachel's head.
See, angels have the ability to alter people's dreams. We shrink down to microscopic sizes and change the dreams.
We got to work right away. We found the area of Rachel's brain that controls dreaming and other things like that. Then Caroline, since she is the more experienced angel, started to change her dreams.
What she had been dreaming about, I'm not completely sure. It was something that had to do with a lot of money. But then, that dream stopped and ours started. Caroline made Rachel see tha first time she had met Lance. They had started to get along almost instantly. Lance had asked her out on a date and after about a week, they had started to go steady.
After they had been dating about a month, Rachel started to get bored with only one guy and started to go out with others. It wasn't that hard since her boyfriend was always on the road.
"Rachel," Caroline said in the dream. "You can't keep doing this to Lance. You have to tell him the truth. Someone with get hurt."
Then, much to our amusement, Rachel started to talk in her sleep.
"No one's going to get hurt," she said. "I have everything planned out so Lance won't find out."
"How would you feel if Lance was cheating on you?" asked Caroline.
"He would never do that," Rachel said.
"Oh really?" asked Caroline. She started to alter Rachel's dream so she was dreaming about Lance with another girl.
The girl was Lance's ex-girlfriend, Danielle. Rachel saw them going out to places and having fun together. Then she saw him calling her on the phone, saying that he couldn't see her that day. Rachel asked him why. She finally have a day off and he was ditching her.
Lance told her that his sister was in town. So they got off the phone. Then Rachel saw Lance turn around and start to kiss Danielle right after he had gotten of the phone with her.
Rachel sat straight up in bed, glad to get away from the horrible dream.
"That was awful," she said outloud.
"What are you saying, Rachel?" she asked herself. "You're the one that's cheating on Lance."
"You can't keep going out with two guys," Caroline said, still inside Rachel's head. Rachel believed it was her own thought. "Who do you love more?"
"Will," Rachel said outloud. Will was the other guy she was dating.
"Then you have to end it with Lance," Caroline told her.
Rachel nodded and then laid back down to sleep. Seeing that our job was done, Caroline and I went home.
