Out in the hall
As soon as the Boys were out in the hallway, Kevin almost exploded.
"Did you hear her?" he asked the guys. "Her parents are in Europe! Europe! What kind of parents go to Europe when there's a possiblity of their only child dying! I'm this close to adopting Drew!" He considered this. "Maybe I should," he said, a little calmer.
"Should what?" Nick asked. "Adopt Drew?"
Kevin nodded.
"Kevin, that's insane," said Brian. "You can't adopt a 15 year old girl."
"Why not?"
"Her parents would never go along with it."
"You don't know that."
"Let's say they are willing to let you adopt Drew," said Howie. "What kind of parent are you going to be if you're always on the road?"
"I can bring Drew along. She doesn't have to be in the hospital. I can get a tutor. Guys, this could work. This really could work."
"Whatever you say, cuz," said Brian as the five of them stepped out of the hospital.
