After he had called Nick, Kevin got an idea. He punched in the Carter's number. Mrs. Carter picked it up.
"Mrs. Carter, this is Kevin. I was wondering if you could help me."
"Of course Kevin. What can I do?"
"I want Mr. & Mrs. Morris's number where ever they are in Europe."
"Why?"
"Well, there's two reasons. Last night, Drew took a turn for the worse and now she's in isolation."
"She is? The poor dear. I should tell Leslie." She gave him the number and then asked, "What's the other reason."
"I want to know if they'd let me adopt Drew."
"Adopt her Kevin? Are you sure?
"Yes. I don't see why I can't. I could be there for here. Her parents are never here."
"Yes, I know. If you really want to do it Kevin, I'm all for it. There have been so many times when I wanted to take Drew in but I don't think you could find her a better father."
"Thanks, Mrs. Carter. Do you think the Morrises will consider it?"
"Yes. They barely pay attention to the poor child."
"Okay. Well, good bye."
"Good bye."
Kevin hung up the phone feeling a bit better.
