The funeral was two days later and the annoucment of Lance's death shocked everyone. The details weren't released.
The next morning, Justin woke up releved to not be woken by the phone and the news that someone was dead. He decided to go play some basketball to try and keep his mind off of Lance.
He drove to a park outside of town, where there wouldn't be a lot of people. And he went by himself. Justin played all day long, only taking short breaks and one for lunch. As the sun started to set, he decided to head home.
He walked back to his car and checked the backseat. He didn't want to be surprised. He tossed his basketball in the back seat and got into the driver's seat. He started his car and pulled into the street.
At first, Justin was lucky. There were no stop signs or red lights. But then his luck ran out. He didn't know it at first.
There was a stop sign about ten minutes from his house. He pulled up and pressed down on the breaks. But the car didn't stop, or even slow down. Justin pounded on the breaks but the car didn't stop. He could see grass rushing past him and something else on the other side.
Justin looked up and saw another car coming at him. He surved to avoid it and saw what had been on the other side of the road. A large brick building. Justin's car started to spin out of control and towards the buidling. His eyes widdened when he realized what was going to happen.
"Good bye, everyone," he said right before his car smashed into the buidling and his neck snapped backwards at the force.
