Brooke entered the library and head for a back corner. She could feel tears threatening at her eyes. She reached her corner and say down, all before she realized there was someone else sitting in the corner.
"JC, I'm sorry," she apologized. "I didn't see you." But she didn't get up.
JC was on the football team and they had often talked on the sidelines.
"That's okay. What's wrong with you?"
"My boyfriend was cheating on me."
"I'm sorry," he said. "But, hey, I'm sure there will be guys lining up after word gets out." He pecked her on the cheek and smiled. "Can I get up now?"
Brooke looked at him and then got up. JC held out a hand and Brooke yanked him up, sending both of them flying into a bookcase. They both held their breathes', expecting the case to fall. It didn't.
"That was a close on," JC smiled.
'He's got a good smile,' Brooke noted. She remembered her friends saying that he sang and had been on TV. She hadn't paid attention though. Right now, she wished she would have.
"I told you guys would be lining up," JC told her, interrupting her train of thought.
"I don't see much of a line," Brooke told him. She didn't even try to look away. His eyes were too amazing.
"Do you want one?"
"No," Brooke said and then she kissed him. JC wasn't expecting it but responded quickly.
"Is there someone back here?" called out the old librarian.
Brooke and JC broke apart and JC moved down the bookcase, acting as though he was looking for a book. Brooke turned and studied the books seriously. The librarian came around the corner and saw them looking at books. She quickly disappeared.
As soon as she was gone, Brooke looked at JC. He pretended to wipe sweat off his forehead and Brooke smiled. He walked back towards her.
"You're not a bad kisser, JC Chasez," she told him as he slipped his arms around her waist.
"Neither are you," he told her. "So, you're not sad about Will anymore?"
"Will who?" Brooke murmured as JC started to kiss her again.
