Nick put his arm on AJ's shoulder to walk straight, and AJ took Brian's hand. Brian was still in a shock, and probably couldn't hear what people were saying around him.
AJ took a deep deep deeeeep breath and walked into the tunnel.
"AJ, why couldn't we all go into the same tunnel?" Nick asked.
"Because we wanna find a way out. Or something. Why did we come in here again?"
"To explore," Nick replied.
"Oh. Why don't we just find freakin way to get outta here?"
"I don't know."
"Oh. Okay."
They walked on and on, then turned and turned and turned, still following the white light. It was a little larger now, probably a lot closer. More and more turns.
"Man, do tunnels ever stop?" AJ whined.
"AJ, this is kinda scary. What if there are spiders waiting to drop down on us from the ceiling? What if there are mountain lions to come and eat us alive? WHAT IF THE ALIENS COME AND ABDUCT US WITH SUPER POWERFUL FORCES?!" Nick yelled.
"Nick, you are totally losing it. You are freaking out. Soon you'll be worse than Brian," AJ said staring into Nick's face, pronouncing each word slowly.
Nick looked at Brian. He did look pretty bad.
"Okay. I'm cool. I'm cool. I'm cool. I AM NOT COOL! But I am," Nick told himself.
They turned one more corner - and knew that the white light was just behind the wall.
AJ kicked it down ... and gasped.
