Chapter 1

August 2, 1998

That night, AJ and Jasmine were the last ones up.

"You always stay up this late?" she asked him, flipping through channels.

"Yeah,' he said, "but usually I'm the only one awake so I get the remote."

"Well, I guess that's going to change," she said flashing him a smile, still holding onto the remote.

"I don't think so."

AJ got up from the other side of the bus and basically jumped on Jasmine in attempt to get the remote. The two of them wrestled for awhile. But in the end, Jasmine still had the remote. She flipped through the channels and found a movie. She stopped surfing.

"What's this?" asked AJ as he sat back down on the other side of the bus."

"I don't know but we're watching it."

So, they watched the movie. In the end, both of them fell asleep during it. They were discovered the next morning when Nick and Brian came in to play Nintendo. They woke AJ and Jasmine up.

The two of them woke up unhappy. They went to their bunks and fell back asleep.

When the bus finally arrived in Colorado, it was late that night. For now, Jasmine and Ally would be sharing a hotel room.

After the girls had gotten all of their stuff in the room, Ally went to bed and Jasmine turned on the TV. She found a movie and then there was a knock on the door.

"Who?"

"AJ."

"Come in. It's unlocked."

"You really shouldn't leave your door unlocked," scolded AJ. "You never know who could come in here."

"Yeah. I might finally find a hot guy. What a tragedy that would be."

"Oh, I'm hurt," said AJ, putting his hands to his chest and pretending to faint onto the couch. Jasmine did not attempt to help him up.

"I guess I know who my real friends are," said AJ sarcastically as he sat up.

"I guess."

Jasmine was driving AJ crazy. Everything he said, she could turn sarcastic. And she ignored him. No one else ever ignored him. And she always did what she wanted to do. She never let him do what he wanted when they were together.

During the next month while Jasmine was on tour with the guys, she became friends with everyone on the tour. She got along best with AJ and Obie, their sax/percussion player. She was never bored hanging around with those two.

When it was time for Jasmine to go back to Florida to start school, she said good bye to Kev, Howie, Nick, and Brian and the others at the hotel. AJ and Obie came with her to the airport.

When the trio reached the boarding area, they were forced to say good bye. First, Jasmine hugged Obie.

"You better keep practicing that sax," he instructed. He had been giving her lessons during the tour.

"I will. I'm gonna miss you though." Then she turned to AJ. "I think I'm going to miss you the most," she confessed. "None of my other friends like to stay up late and watched movies with me. And none of them have a zillion different pairs of sunglasses."

"Hey, we'll be back in Florida in a few weeks," he reminded her, wrapping her in hug. "Take the glass," he told her, handing over the pair he was wearing. "Who's going to make sarcastic remarks about everything I say?" he asked her, looking straight into her eyes.

"Calll me and I'll say everything sarcastic I can think of. Deal?"

"Deal." They shook on it and Jasmine's flight was called.

"Bye," she said. Jasmine boarded the plane and never looked back.
