The next morning, Jasmine opened her eyes and found herself staring into a pair a coffee brown ones.
"Hey."
"Hey."
"How was the movie?"
"It was alright."
It was a t that moment that Jasmine realized how gorgeous AJ was and how close to him she was. Physically. His leg was pressed against hers and their lips were mere inches apart.
AJ was looking Jasmine in the eyes and hoped with all of his heart that the look on her face meant she wanted to kiss him. He moved his face closer to hers and lightly brushed her lips. When she didn't draw back, he continued the kiss and to his joy-she kissed him back. She even put her arms around his neck. After the kiss was over, they just looked at each other. AJ sat up and Jasmine sat in his lap.
"I was a afraid you'd hit me or something," he confessed and Jasmine laughed. "It's not nice to laugh at your boyfriend."
"Who said I was your boyfriend?" she asked.
"Will you go out with me?"
"What the hell!" And they kissed again.
"Um, listen, there's something I have to tell you," Jasmine said, pulling back.
"What?" AJ asked, worried. Was she sick or something?
"I'm a virgin," she said simply. Might as will just get it over with, was her reasoning. "And I'm going to stay one," she continued before he could interrupt. "Not my whole life but until I get married. I hope you don't hate me."
"Hate you?" AJ questioned. "I could never hate you," he said, pulling her against his chest. "Am I disappointed? That's an understatement. But I can tell you're not going to change your mind."
"You're right," she told him relieved. "So what time do you think it is?"
"10:19," he said, glancing down at his watch which he had forgotten to take off.
"10:19!" Jasmine shrieked as she scrambled out of AJ's lap. She grabbed her jacket and pulled it one.
"What's the big deal?"
"I'm supposed to go shopping with Ally for groceries and clothes cause Brian coming over. And I have to find a place to study. Shit!"
"You mean I don't get to spend the day with my girlfriend? And why do you have to study?"
"You poor baby. I have a test on Monday."
"You could come over here and study in the extra room."
"Thanks," she said, kissing him on the cheek.
"What am I going to do until then?"
"Why don't you go over to Brian's and you two can mope over your girlfriend being gone?" she suggested, brushing his lips. AJ put an arm around her waist to pull her back down but she pulled away.
"Bye!" she called and before he knew it, Jasmine was out the door.
