Chapter 6

The girls went shopping and didn't get home until five o'clock. Brian was coming at seven. Ally started to cook supper and Jasmine studied a while and then watched TV.

At 7:00, there was a knock on the door.

"Jaz? Can you get that?" Ally called from her room. "I'm not dressed."

"If you just got the door, it'd save you guys some time," she called back. But before the warning 'Jasmine…' could come, she called: "But I'll get it," and did just that.

"Hey Jasmine," said Brian, smiling. "Good to see ya. You're not staying here though, are you?"

"No," she told him, laughing at the face he made. "I'm going to AJ's."

"Oh, yeah. He told me you two are dating. Congratulations,"

"Thanks. When exactly did AJ tell you that we're going out?" Jasmine asked him.

"This afternoon. He came over to my place, so we played pool and talked about our women."

"Really? Or did he just tell you to say that?"

"Why would he tell me to say that?"

"No reason. I gotta go," she told him, grabbing her backpack off the couch. "You two have fun but you better behave yourselves."

"Take your own advice," Ally told her as she stepped from her room.

"Ha ha," said Jasmine, sticking out her tongue. "Bye." She stepped into the hallway, and as she closed the door, could hear Brian complimenting Ally. She rode to the lobby and went outside. She walked across the street to AJ's condo. When she got to AJ's door, she knocked and he opened the door.

"Hey!" he greeted her, flashing a smile.

She didn't answer him, instead started to kiss AJ, which shocked and excited him at the same time.

"What did I do to deserve that?" he asked, as Jasmine finally came into the apartment.

"You're just the best boyfriend in the world."

"Really? How do you figure?"

"Well, Brian came over," she told him, wrapping her arms around his neck and smiling. AJ smiled back. "And he said you had been at his house and talked about your girlfriends just like I told you to."

"Oh. I guess following directions does come in handy sometimes."

"Yeah they do. But I have to go study now."

"No you don't."

"If I want to pass this test I do."

"Then I'll see you in twenty minutes for your break."

"Maybe you will, maybe you won't," she said, picking up her backpack and she started to walk down the hall.

"If you don't come out, I might have to go in there."

"Then I'll see you in twenty."
