Chapter 9

The clocks turned to midnight and the confetti flew through the air, but Brian only had one thought on his mind.

It's time to spend those two month's salary.

He wasn't going to anyone. He couldn't. People would think he was crazy-not that he cared what they thought.

He decided to make the move on Valentine's Day. He treated her to a fancy restaurant and all that jazz.

After they had ordered desert, Brian moved over to Ally's side of the booth.

"Ally," he said shakily, picking up her hand. "we've known each other for a really long time, and I really love you."

"I love you too," she said slowly.

"So I wondering if you wouldn't mind making me the luckiest man in the universe and…will you marry me?"

For a minute, Ally was speechless and Brian thought all of his nightmares were coming true and she was going to say no. But then he noticed the tears in her eyes.

"I'd love to," she finally managed. "Yes, yes, yes. I do, I do."

Brian laughed and kissed Ally. The woman she was going to marry. And as soon as possible.
