Chapter 7

When they arrived, they were greeted by two of their boodyguards.

"Come on," said Lonnie. "The others are already outside."

So they grabbed their luggage and raced out of the airport.

As soon as they were in the limo, on the way to the hotel, AJ turned to Brian.

"So, how are things between you and Ally?"

"Fine. Perfect. We're like best friends."

"What?" said Nick, pretending to be mad. "I thought I was your best friend."

"Ahhh. Poor Nick," the four friends said together.

"So did you ask her out yet?" asked AJ as they put on hats and sunglasses to try and descize themselves when they got out.

They jumped out of the limo, ran into the lobby and got in the elevator. They managed to get in without being recognized.

"AJ," said Brian, as the elevator rose, "I'm not going to ask her out. She's just a friend."

"Sure, B-rok. Whatever you say."

They got off the elevator and waited for the bodyguards to come up with their stuff. None of them liked that the others had to do this for them but it was the only way. When the guards came up, they all went into their own rooms. p>The Boys were in Europe until mid October. Then they went back to Florida for a few weeks for some performances. After that, Brian was going home for a while because he had a doctors appointment.

The plan was for Brian to go to his appointment and then got to Ally's and then they would go out for lunch.

So that morning, Brian wasnt to the doctor's. They did the usually tests and x-rays. Then the doctor came back with the news.

"Brian, I'm afriad I have some bad news. There is a hole in your heart and it is causing the organ to enlarge. We need to do surgery. It could be life threatening."

"How long would the recovery be?"

"One, maybe two months."

Brian fell silent. That was too long. The Boys were just gaining popularity in the US. He had to put off the surgery until he had that much time to recover.

"Doc, I'm going to put it off."

"I'm going to have to advise you against that."

"I'll do the surgery when I have time."

After that, Brian left the hospital and drove to Ally's new apartment.

"Brian!" she greeted him. They hugged each other and Brian spun her around.

"So how was you appointment?" she asked him.

"Um, not the best."

"What happened?" she asked, her face full of concern.

Brian explained everything to her, how the doctor said he needed surgery and he was going to put it off.

"What?!" she exploded when he was finished. "Brian, that is idiotic! Insane! Do you want to end up in that graveyard next to Josh?!" She opened the door and pointed out. "Get out. I can't talk to you today. Maybe I'll call you tomorrow."

Brian walked out of the apartment building, his head hanging. He got into his Jeep. The girl he loved had just called him an idiot.

'Girl I love?' he thought, right after the first thought. 'I don't love Ally.'

'Yes you do Brian,' the other part of him said. 'You've loved her ever since you saw her again when you were 15.'

All of the sudden, Brian realized that that part of his was right. He started to cry when he realized how much he wanted her.
