While Brian was in surgery, his parents, his brother, Kevin's mom, and Kevin were sitting in the waiting room. Ally was pacing with the worst thoughts going through her mind.
'What if he can't perform again? He'll be devistated. What it...?' She didn't let herself think those awful thoughts. She sat down on a couch and buried her head in her arms.
'Dear God,' she prayed, 'please let Brian live. I can't live without him. I love him too much. I need him.'
She shocked herself by saying this and then realized it was true. She loved Brian. Not like a friend loves a friend. She loved him. She started to cry silent tears.

After Brian was out of surgery and they were sure he was okay, everyone else went home. Ally came back the next day to visit and the day after that, Brian left the hospital.
When they got to Ally's apartment, Brian had to sit on the couch while Ally brought up his stuff. He was supposed to take it easy. They had supper and then watched TV. At 11:00, Ally made Brian go to bed.
"Do I have to?" he whined.
"You sound like a little kid," she told him. "Look, I'll go to bed too."
"Fine. Where am I sleeping?"
"In my bed."
"Where are you sleeping?"
"On a cot in my room. You need to sleep in a real bed."
"Fine."
So Brian went into Ally's room to change and Ally changed in the bathroom. When she came out, she knocked on the door.
"Can I come in?"
"Sure."
She walked in to see Brain looking at her CDs. He looked really good too. He was wearing boxers and a t-shirt.
"Ya like Boyz II Men, don't ya?"
"Gee, what gave you that idea?" she asked. "I just have every CD and single."
"So do I," confessed Brian.
"Did you try out the bed yet?"
Brian gave her a quizzical look but sat down. The water sloshed around under his weight.
"Alright! Waterbed!"
"Yep. Now get in bed."
"Yes ma'am. Sergant ma'am," he said, saluting her. She laughed.
He got into bed and Ally turned off the light. Then she felt her way to the cot.
"Night Brian."
"Nigh Ally."
