Well, I finished one volume in about a day. Then, I got four hours of sleep. When I woke up, there was Volume Two of Nick’s life. I spent the whole 25 days in this fashion: get up, read new volume and eat occasionally or throw a ball for Tucker while reading, sleep, wake up to find new volume. Each one seemed bigger than the last, but I always finished and I always got four hours of sleep. I don’t know how I did it, but I did it. I finally finished his whole, entire life.
"I’m done!" I shouted trimphantly, thrusting my arms up in the air. "I’m finally done!" Tucker lazily glanced up at me from his corner of the couch, then decided to go back to sleep. "Grandpa? God? Somebody, I’m done!" I called, standing and stretching. Grandpa appeared in fron to fme.
Then you’re ready.
"Ready?" I gulped. "But... what do I say? ‘Hey, Nick. I was a fan of yours when I was a live, but now I’m dead, so I’m your Guardian Angel?’ Get real."
He’ll know you’re important in his life, Lucy. He already does. Just introduce yourself as his Angel. It’s that simple.
"Simple. Yeah. SURE. Fine! Simple, he says! Just INTRODUCE myself. I’m READY, he says! Simple!! HA!!"
