Chapter 6

Two months later, when the guys went back to the States, Hathor was still with them. While none of the others had seen her, she had learned everything about the. She had also raided their CDs to 'find some decent music' as she put it.

Hathor kept amazing Nick. She listened to a song once and she had it all memorized. The rhythms, the lyrics, everything. When she sang the song, she could make herself sound just like the recording. Hathor made Nick buy a Beatles CD. She listened to it and kept singing the songs over and over and over again. She was doing it as they were flying back home.

"Would you shut up?!" Nick hissed, as she launched into No Reply for the millionth time.

"Why? They're all dead to the world," she said, gesturing at the others.

"Kevin's still awake," Nick told her. Hathor glanced over at Kevin.

"He's listening to the Eagles crap. They can't even hear me anyway…"

"I know but…."

Hathor was still charging on.

"Why is he listening to the Eagles? There are a bunch of good CDs here. Like that Maxwell one. Who had that? I don't remember. That one song was really good. Oh, which one was that? Lonely's The Only Company. That's a good one. And that group. One of them left. Nick, what group is that?"

"Dru Hill," Nick supplied wearily.

"Yeah, Dru Hill. They are awesome. That Five Steps is the best. And Tell Me. That is a good song. Brian McKnight! Now, that's one of the best records I have ever heard. What a hottie! And Babyface. He had the best voice."

"Shut up!" Nick yelled. Kevin glared at him. Brian, who was sitting next to Nick, woke up and turned.

"Why did you scream?" Brian asked slowly.

"I…um, I mean that…sorry?" Nick said lamely.

"Yeah right." Then Brian turned back over and fell asleep. Hathor laughed and disappeared.

A few hours later, they arrived back home in the States.
