Chapter 9

The book actually doesn't go into that much depth and it doesn't tell what happened next. That was all right with me. I didn't want people to know all the details.

The story goes on. The guys fought in a few battles. Some more dangerous than others. Truth be told, Brian died in one of them. You don't actually think the scar is from heart surgery, do you? Some idiot Dark Being tried to stake Howie, who quickly moved and the Dark Being got Brian.

He gave Tajae, who was by him, quite a scare when he dropped. The stake went into his heart. She used his watch to stop time, got the stake out, closed up the wound and then brought him back to life.

See, the guys don't tell the fans everything. Truth is, Millennium got delayed because of a battle. It's all in the book.

"Are you read to come home?" a deep Southern voice drawled from the doorway. Kevin was leaning on the frame. "I thought you were going to come an hour and a half ago."

"I got caught up reading."

He nodded and walked over to the couch. "I figured. What are you reading?"

I held up the book and smiled sheepishly. Kevin grinned.

"Like you don't already know the story," he said, pulling me up. I put the book on the self and asked,

"Do we have to go home? We haven't been to Hawaii in awhile."

"That's because you screwed up the spell the last time," he reminded me as we left the room. "Why don't we go to the forest?"

"No. We always go there."

"We could just go home."

I considered this. Home and a real bed. I could feel the heat radiating off of his body and made my decision. "Sounds like a plan. But under one condition." He cocked his eyebrows in question. "We fly."

Kevin smiled, picked me up in his arms and we were flying. We became a star. Honestly, we did. Shooting stars are soulmates flying home. You didn't know that, did you?

Before I knew it, we were landing outside of the house. Then we went in. Soulmates forever.
