Ceramic Engineer and Designer
Joel Veach began his lifelong love of art as a painter in southern California, where he was born and educated. His early works depicted the colors and natural light of the Golden State's vanishing countryside. While attending a local junior college, Joel became fascinated by the alchemical process of ceramics. In the 30 years that followed, he traveled the world - experimenting with form and color, teaching ceramics and eventually earning a masters degree in the feild. Inspired by the brilliant tones of tropical fish and flowers, he also developed a complete color pallet for ceramic art and a unique family of underglazes. Today, Joel shares the beauty of these underglazes with both artist and art lovers, shipping his creations woldwide under his company name of Miracle Underglaze. 1989 New Age Stone San Jose CA.  Design, set up and train owner for franchise ceramic tile and concrete tile, roof tile plants. Set up and train new business owners at their locations, twenty in the U.S. and ten in Europe.

1990 Handcraft Tile San Jose CA.  Formulate various colored lowfire glazes.

1990 Boyd Lighting San Francisco CA.  Formulate three Cone 03 translucent porcelain clay bodies for lighting fixtures.

Carol's Ceramics Sebastapol, CA.  Formulate low and medium temperature glazes and clay bodies. Formulate cone 5 water crock casting, claybody, glaze, and decorating colors for Aftosa Company. Reformulate fifteen of Duncan Ceramic products lead based color glazes to a leadless system.

1992 Bridgett Pottery San Jose CA.  Formulate ten cone 04-02 opaque low thermal expansion glazes to fit corresponding colored stoneware clay bodies. Formulate ten cone 04-5 underglazes and compatible leadless glaze. Design ten Tropical fish patterns on approved pottery shapes utilizing these underglazes and clear glaze.

1992 Clay Design Long Beach CA.  Formulate forty-two Majolica Stain colors.
Formulate Majolica liquid and screening medium.
Formulate various specialty cone 5 glazes.

1994 Tropical Clay Honolulu, HI  Formulate new cone 04,6, and 10 glazes and colors. Formulate eighty Majolica Stain colors.
Invented single fire screening process for ram pressed tile. Design and manufacture new ideas in the product line. Trouble-shoot glaze, clay body, design and equipment problems in production and marketing.
