The hero of the show, Ash Ketchum is a 10 year old boy on a Pokémon journey. Ash wants to become the world's foremost Pokémon Master. Ash has different types of Pokémon, unlike his companions.
Misty is the former Cerulean City gym leader and a keeper of water Pokémon. She joined the group because Ash ruined her bike and promised her a new one (eventually). Misty begins to enjoy the journey after awhile, but she still brings up her bike.
Brock is the oldest of the three. He generally keeps rock pokémon, but he does have a Vulpix (One of my favourite pokémon) Brock has a soft spot for pretty girls, and we see that in just about every episode. He's formerly the leader of the Pewter City gym, and he hopes to become the world's best Pokémon breeder.
Professer Oak is kind of an absent-minded professer. He's the grandfather of Ash's rival Gary and he always seems bring Gary into the conversation. However, the professer provided Ash with Pikachu, his very first Pokémon, and he's always ready to help Ash and co. on their journey.
Joy has numerous sisters and cousins who all look exactly alike and are all in the nursing occupation. She's pretty much the only nurse you'll see throughout the series.
Jenny, like nurse Joy, has a whole bunch of twin sisters and cousins. They run the entire police force in the entire Pokémon world.
Ash's Mom is like anyone elses Mom. She worries about her son and made extra sure to pack absolutely everything Ash could ever possible need on his journey; including extra underwear.
