When asleep I plunge into your soul

and I listen with my ear on your chest.
It is a deep throbbing - I hear your love for me.
Gentle murmurs, sweet complaining,
sighs that blow the fire of love.
Your heart, like a dream, keeps another time.
It's a flame I've put there that I hope never dies.

I wonder how would I ever fare

alone with the absence of your affection?
Fate has brought you to me,
this great hollowness inside me
has finally been satisfied.
Hold me with your charms,
kiss me tenderly on my cheek.
Hold me tight as my love warms you,
talk to me because I love to hear you sweet.
Please never let me go
because I don't want to grieve.

I thought I heard you whisper my name,

but I saw no one there.
It was a soft sound,
that sent shivers all through me
just like you had laid your hands upon my breast.
It must have been a trick of the wind
or perhaps you were thinking of me.
Yet often I hear your voice
and always my heart responds with love.
Reasoning cannot quench the flame,
it grows from a state of passion
to a warmth sustaining my life.
It's warmth spreads through me,
daring me, teasing me.
This love has grown so strong in my heart
yet it cannot change the things that keep us apart.

I tore my lips from yours
my hands trembling
my skin dancing
and my knees so weak I cannot stand.
my body doesn't know how to be loved
by someone like you.
