All Historical Physics papers will be divided into several pieces. 60 marks will be distributed in the partial pieces handed in to me; 40 marks will be warded to the final form of the paper, to add up to a maximum of 100. In the case of the partial pieces of the work, 2 points will be deducted from the mark awarded for each day the work is late. In the case of the final paper, 5 points will deducted for each late day.
Emphasis will be placed in the proper development of each of the objectives in the partial pieces of the work. You only have to copy each objective with its respective identification number, and develop it below in complete form. In the case of the final paper, emphasis will be placed in the introduction, in how the ideas are linked in the body of the work, in the conclusion (final comments), and the presence of the references, correctly written.
The introduction should be complete and appropriate to the topic being developed. The conclusion or final comments must be a very brief summary of the main ideas found, each followed by your personal perspective, reflection, or point of view in relation to it. The final paragraph(s) must be a generalization of the main concepts that you learned when reading the material assigned and your overall point of view about the contents of the reading.
Paper 1 has 8 objectives to be developed, and will be divided into 4 parts, 2 objectives per part. Paper 2 has 12 objectives, and will also be divided into 4 pats, 3 objectives per part. In both cases, each of these parts will receive a maximum of 15 marks. For Paper 3, 7 objectives must be developed. This one will be divided into 3 parts. The first and second parts will contain 2 objectives, and the last one will contain three objectives. Paper 4 has 6 objectives and will also be divided into three parts, containing 2 objectives each. For these 2 papers, 20 points will be awarded for each of the parts.
One paper will be counted towards the mark of each quarter. Due dates will be announced in class. Usually, the first part of each paper will be due the second week of the quarter. Successive parts are due one week after the previous one. Papers will be received on Monday or Tuesday, depending upon when we meet for classes for the first time that week.
