"Third Degree Farewell Bash"
at Anna Bannana's

Sadly, Honolulu's best blues band has passed into the history books. The "Third Degree Farewell Bash" at Anna Bannana's on August 2, 2003 was a fond sendoff and tribute to founder Chris Planas.
Honolulu's finest "Vintage Surf Music" band, Tiki Taboo, opened the show with their best set yet. Keep your eyes and ears open for Tiki Taboo, you'll be hearing a lot more from them ;-)
The Wild Edna Blues Band reformed (and performed ;-) for this one special night only and what a treat that was!
Third Degree played three sets until after 1:30 AM for a crowd of almost 200 fans. Some old friends and very special guests including Bailey Matsuda, Beano Shots, Bobby Ingano, Ralph Ingano, Rick Baldwin, Sean Thibadeaux and Vernon Sakata were on hand to sit in with Third Degree and honor the departing Chris Planas!
Aloha Chris, the Honolulu Music Scene will definitely miss you!!!
Mahalos to Hawaii Public Radio and Hawaii Blues Society for their help in publicizing this event.
Mahalos also go out to Kevin Tate of Kevin's Rib Crib who served up some of his great cooking at his usual reasonable prices, the BBQ shrimp and ribs were "broke da mouth" ;-).

Here are a few pictures; Sorry we couldn't include everyone. ;-(
