Mahalo to all of you who came out to see The Rockin' Johnny Band with Little Arthur Duncan in the South Seas Village at the Hawaiian Hut and especially those who became members of the Hawaii Blues Society on Saturday March 2, 2002.
The Blues fans who attended saw one of the hottest shows in Honolulu in quite some time! Rockin' Johnny Burgin has that "West Side" Chicago guitar sound down cold and fronts one of the hottest young blues bands anywhere!
(Rick Kreher,Sho Komiya and Kenny Smith)

Little Arthur Duncan is one of the last of the dying breed of second generation Chicago Bluesmen. With his engaging voice and stage demeanor, he evokes the spirits of legends like Jimmy Reed and Howlin' Wolf! His latest Delmark release, "Singin' With The Sun", is an absolutely essential modern Chicago blues recording!
It's a shame that none of the local record stores were carrying it at showtime.
Mahalos also go out to
"Hawaii's First Lady Of Soul" Keahi Conjugacion and Friends
(Dan del Negro,Chris Van Der Cook,Todd Smith and Garin Poliahu) who opened the show.
