James Tracy-Discography

more of the unusual work of Jimmy boy..

Locust

Recorded in 1995 with someone named Jeff Tandy, this is completely unlike anything he did alone. It is a grindcore/industrial sound along the lines of Pitch Shifter and Godflesh. Not much else to say about it. Spine is a good tune, and most of this short album is very groovy despite being the king of tuned-down grind that Earache normally puts out.

Heyzeus Jesus

O.K. the explanation given to me was that you pronounce the first word and the second the same, (jesus is a common hispanic/spanish name). This one is hard to define, even within this context. Exemplifies the phrase: "Never thought you could do that with a glass full of pencaps" Clayton says this was "Some things that I kept hearing in my head that I recorded so I wouldn't have to think about them anymore" I can't explain it at all, except to say some of it is very good, some not so good. A highlight would definately be Depravity/The Rapist which is what might be called hip-hop or something, and is a tongue in cheek criticism of the attitude towards women employed often in that genre, with lyrics like "I wanna fuck you till you bleed", and the entire melody composed of porn samples of women screaming.

Skin-S/E

Recorded in 1996, and standing for Special Events, this four song album is more rare than the rest, excepting Heyzeus. Mostly live tracks that reappear on Shelter.. A rare track that is exceptional is "Lifelong ambition for righteousness" done with the DJ Slim Gordo from San Antonio. Actually excepting that song, most of these live works are surprisingly traditional and rock-like, almost.
