Chapter 23

Cami wriggled and laughed at her lover, who despite her obvious protests still forced himself on her, rolling around under the blanket until she was pinned beneath him again.

"Lay off!" Cami giggled and tried to push him away, but he was already preparing her for more; he kissed her neck and chest lovingly while caressing her right hip with his hand. "Buck, the rabbit's on fire!"

Buck looked up and stated she was only fooling him; the rabbit roasting over the fireplace was perfectly intact. He gave her a sinister smile and dove back to meet her warm skin.

"Buck, please!" Cami laughed and wriggled again when he started to tickle her belly. "No!" she squealed and laughed even more.

Buck looked up innocently. "What?" he asked and frowned.

"Stop, I can't take any more," Cami begged.

"Okay," Buck agreed; a second later he was tickling her again.

Cami enjoyed his wittiness, though they had made love all day. First at the bank, then in the water, then on the bank again, in the cave, outside the cave, again inside by the fire, and now he refused to stop. She was close to exhausted, and they hadn't eaten anything proper yet. Buck had been on a short hunt and found a rabbit, but the instant he returned their clothes were dropped and their bodies melted together as one. And they couldn't get enough. Buck closed his arms around her back and held her tightly against his chest. She smiled and stared into the flames of the fire, enjoying the peaceful silence, which only lasted for a few minutes. Then Buck had to ravage her again; no regrets.

She felt his pulsing hardness pushing against her bottom, and with a little help from his hands, he soon had her spread enough to enter her. He grunted and bit her shoulder playfully, thrusting only carefully at first. But soon his male needs caused him to pump wildly, and with every thrust she moaned delightfully. Buck had learnt to hear when she was close, and she seemed to know the same about him. He reached for her breasts with his free right hand and carefully caressed them while he moved his entire member, save the head, in and out until an electric feeling tingled up his spine. His cock exploded the same moment Cami reached her peak, and she was more than thankful he continued to thrust until they were both completely spent. Buck nuzzled her neck and welcomed her hand that reached behind her to stroke his hip and buttock. His breath was warm and heavy on her skin, but soon he began to calm down.

Cami relished the aftermath. It was almost as wonderful as the mating act itself. She could feel his maleness slowly soften and go limp between her thighs, and his lips were now only drowsily seeking her shoulder. This was the only reassurance she needed; he had fallen for her. He loved her.

Somehow. She wanted him to tell her, though. Just once. No one had ever said that to her. Okay, her parents had told her, but no one else. She needed to hear her lover say it. But he was silent.

"The rabbits on fire," she said calmly, and Buck chuckled behind her.

"Of course," he replied sarcastically.

"Seriously. It's on fire, you better save it if you want any supper tonight."

Buck sat up on his left elbow and looked into the flames. "You." he muttered upon seeing the unharmed roast.

Cami giggled and turned the stick around which held the rabbit above the flames. "I think it's done in a couple of minutes," she said.

"Hmm, what to do?" Buck feigned thoughtfulness. Cami scooted away from him and wrapped the blanket around her body.

"Whatever you think of, you do it alone," she giggled and rolled around to face him.

"Am I that bad?" Buck asked with a wry quizzical look on his face, which Cami had to laugh at. "Thanks, that's just what I needed." he muttered in reply.

"No," she shook her head and stifled her amusement. "No, you're not bad."

"You laughed!" Buck cried, a hurt expression furrowing his brow. Cami laughed again. Buck shook his head and scratched his chin, letting out a heavy sigh. "I'm new at this, you know!"

"Really, me too!" Cami smiled and took his hand in hers; she kissed his knuckles and caressed it for a moment. "You're not bad, Buck. You're all I ever wished for and then some," she spoke earnestly.

Buck smiled back with hot cheeks. He wasn't used to compliments of this sort. "Thanks," he said and pulled his hand back. "Hey, right back at ya!" Cami laughed again. He giggled somewhat embarrassed at his own comment, and he was ashamed he didn't know a better way to tell her how he felt. Of course, he could say what he had been thinking about all day; that he loved her. But he didn't want to scare her away. His thoughts were broken by the straining fireplace behind his lover.

"The rabbit's on fire!" he announced seriously and threw himself over her in a desperate attempt to save the roast from perishing.

Cami laughed heartily as he burnt his hand on the burning stick, but somehow he managed to get the roast out of the flames before it was a total waste.

He blew at the flames and held up a part black and smoky rabbit body to her. His crossed face expression said it all. Cami doubled over in amusement.
