50-Milers: Congratulations to Vance, Joshua, Dwaine, Kendrick, Matthew, Andrew M., Justin O., Grant, Cole, Chris U., and adult leaders Bob Boesch, Clay Sugimoto, and Kenji Higaki. After two days of grueling rain in Haleakala Crater, the group exited via Kaupo Gap and the final 20 miles along Hana Highway. At the end, there were plenty of smiles and sore feet.

30-Milers: Congratulations to Ryan, Michael, Kurt, Lee, Mark, Gregg, Mitchell, and adult leaders Randy Ching, Alvin Char, and Mel Kai. After spending 2 days at Hosmer’s Grove, this group enjoyed better weather in the crater and ended their journey at the bottom of Kaupo Gap. Highlights included seeing I’iwi at Hosmer’s, Nene and ice on our tents at Holua, and the beautiful night sky at Paliku. Others completing 30 miles included: Brent, Bryson, and adult leader Guy Villarosa.

Backpacking Merit Badge Counselors: Bob Boesch, Randy Ching, Steve Hong, and Clay Sugimoto. There were many backpacking trips on Oahu (Palama Uka, Mokuleia Beach-Kaiaka Bay, Peacock Flats, Kaena Point, etc.) accomplished in preparation for our Maui trip.
