BIO

The band Yellow Five was formed in May of 1998. Members include Tio Pistilli (lead vocals), Raven Hardison (backup vocals), Nathan Hansen (bass guitar), Matt Bell (rhythm guitar), Kelby Caldwell (lead guitar), and Will Reiss (drums). After months of rehearsals, the band found itself playing venues, such as Guido’s Pizzeria, Indienet Record Shop, 328 Performance Hall, and The Eighth Day, in their hometown of Nashville, Tennessee. They were also nominated to headline the King Of The Ville band competition at Indienet Record Shop on November 21, 1998, and placed third in the same competition on January 20, 1999. The band also played, and helped organize, the Crittenton Services Musical Mayhem benefit concert at 328 Performance Hall on March 5, 1999. Yellow Five was created by a blending of the established Nashville bands Pariah (Caldwell) and Fuzz (Hansen, Bell, Reiss), with the addition of singers Pistilli and Hardison. Yellow Five has opened for many other established local bands, such as Bare Jr., Jambon, and the Dahlia Llamas. The songs are written mostly by Matt Bell. With an upcoming debut album entitled Greatest Hits Vol. 3, and the recent sales of their first single: Too Many Times, the band is excited about making the next step in the music industry. Three songs, Silent Sounds, Disembodied, and Too Many Times have received airplay on the local radio stations 103 KDF and 91.1 ROCK. They’ve already made a splash in Nashville’s young rock scene, earning rave reviews by fans and press alike. With an alternative-rock style of music, this young band is known for their high levels of energy and a large youthful following. Their main influences include: Nirvana, The Smashing Pumpkins, Foo Fighters, Led Zeppelin , Self, Sublime, That Dog, The Dave Matthews Band, Radiohead, and The Beatles.
