She also went to school to be a photographer, and enjoyed the life of a student
at college.She was fairly popular and had a keen eye, always watching
things that went on around her, honing her skills as a photographer.
She was much like her father in this way, a people watcher.
In the beginning of her last semester of college, her father's health
failed. He had a heart attack and a stroke, weakening and debilitating
him.
For Catrina, there is no real decision to agonize over. Though it wounds
her to do so, she walks away from college with the hope of someday
returning, and goes home to help her mother care for her father and take
over the running of the family owned Pub.
Weeks turn into months, and then years as her father's progress is slow,
and a full recovery seems less and less viable.Then she hears of a new
type of therapy that gives hope for a better and perhaps full recovery.
She redoubles her efforts to make the pub more productive to help pay
for the therapy.
Ond night one thier way to assess his progress, which seems to be
getting better, her parents are killed in a car accident.Catrina's heart
and soul are crushed and she retreats into herself. She goes on with the
pub in oder to pay off the medical bills of her father's and to keep the
pub as a memory to him. She stays on at the pub for a year and a half
keeping more and more to herself. Her sorrow just too great to bear. One
night a fire breaks out, the police reason it to be fauly wiring. The pub
is a total lose.
Her family dead and the pub gone, she has now been out of school for
years and now has little ambition. It seems to her there is not much
left for her. She knows she needs to find a new reason to live, and
in so doing leaves Essex for London. She sets up in a modest cottage
with fireplace, and first rate photograhy equipment, along with a
full dark room.
After a while life begins to get better for her, and she starts
talking with people again.Though she holds her parents and home in
Essex very close to her heart, she knows she must go on with life.
She goes on a few dates, though avoids seeing anyone steady just yet.
She does not think she is ready for that.
She does some free-lance photography work, really just enough to pay
for her hobby make small improvements, and takes a full time job
waitressing in a Mr. Cues. The pub caters to a rougher group of bikers,
though they take good care of the place and the regulars, as well as
the staff. Smitty, the owner, somehow manages to keep the wilder ones
in line without letting things erupt.
The bikers are frequently fairly free with the female wait staff,
gropes, pinches, and lewd remarks being common. Slaps and the
occasional dousing in beer in return are also well tolerated, making
for a genial, if rather Earthy environment.
One of the frequent patrons, a large and quiet man called Hogan,
seems to be friendly with most of the bikers that come through the
doors, though few if any can saw they truly know him. He is one of the
first to step in when things start to go to far, and has a reputation
of finishing fights that occur around him.
Through time and working in Mr.Cues, through many pinches and lewd
remarks,and a bit of grabbing, Catrina has come to find her
backbone again.Still shy at times, when need be her old spunk sparks
back and she has been known to take care of herself nicely.
