Flower Pots |
For this project you will need a small clay pot and floral styrofoam from a gardening or craft store. Pipe
cleaners in Valentine's colors(green if you want it to look more realistic). Corrugated brown paper strips can be bought by the bag, or made from brown shopping bags fan folded and cut in small strips ( to make the
"dirt"). For the flowers, you can use a variety of materials including tissue paper, mylar foil or cut out heart shapes.
Start with a 1"-2" thick circle of foam cut to fit the bottom of your clay pot. This helps the "flowers" stay where you put them. Then attach your desired flowers to the pipe cleaners. For tissue or mylar foil, fan fold a small rectangle and wrap the end of the pipe cleaner around the center to hold. Then fold the tissue in half and wrap again at the center. Fluff the tissue or foil out to look like a carnation. You can also glue two heart shapes together with the pipe cleaner in the center. |
