"Thanks," April grinned brightly at him. "Where are we going?"
"I don't know yet...No where too boring," He flashed her a crooked grin.
April shook her head and accepted the towel Justin tossed in her direction. "Thanks," She said, wiping her face off with it. "I'm going to shower and change, ok?"
"Great," Justin grinned again and ran his finger along her jawline. "See you in an hour?"
"Sounds good to me," April smiled at Justin, but over his shoulder she saw Josh, a dark look on his face. "Blast," She whispered.
"What?" Justin leaned closer to her to hear her.
"Nothing," She smiled brightly. "Nothing at all." She gave him a quick kiss on the cheek and walked away, feeling a pair of eyes on her back. Not today, April thought to herself desperately. Please not today, Josh. Today is a good day. Today was supposed to be so perfect...
Suddenly she felt a pair of strong arms around her from behind, hugging her tightly, and a head against the right side of her head. She looked over and saw Aaron. "Hey, Aar," She sighed.
"It'll be ok," Aaron whispered in her ear, as if he had read her mind, before turning and going down a different hallway.
"I wub you, dancer!" April called after him.
"I wub you, too, singer!" Aaron called over his shoulder.
April grinned and Kelsy looked at April, cocking her head. "Everything gonna be ok?"
April looked at Aaron. "It is now. He's a great friend."
"The best guy friend a girl could get," Agreed Kelsy, also watching Aaron walk away.
"Straight, too," April grinned. "No competition."
This caused a tiny smile to flit at the edges of Kelsy's mouth. "April..."
April, fearing a lecture, rolled her eyes "What?"
"Good luck," Kelsy murmured, suddenly distracted.
April turned and saw JC walked towards them. "Good luck to you, too, girl," April winked, kissed JC's cheek, and ran to get ready.
JC stared after her. "She doesn't know who, does she?"
"No," Kelsy said. "She refuses to believe Josh is in love with her."
"Y'know, Justin thinks he has her around his little finger," JC said.
"He's wrong," Kelsy smiled wryly. "She's got him so tight around her finger that it's losing circulation."
"He's never gonna know what hit him," JC said, putting his arm around Kelsy's shoulders.
"Not til it's too late, at least," Kelsy allowed as she put her arm around JC's waist.
"Too late," JC murmured. It's already too late for some things.
"Kels!" Josh's voice rang out through the venue.
Kelsy ignored it, not wanting to see the pain in his eyes.
"Hey, bubble butt," Josh grinned, kissing Kelsy's cheek. "You mind if MTV had me do an interview about this?"
"About you kissing me?"
"No, you moron, about the tour," Josh laughed and said hi to JC.
"Oh, have a blast," Kelsy grinned.
"Ready, Kels?" JC grinned at Josh and held out his hand.
"Yup," Kelsy nodded and slid her hand into JC's.
Josh could tell just by looking it was a perfect fit. A smile spread over his face as he whispered in Kelsy's ear, "Don't let this one go, ok, girl?"
She smiled and shyly brushed the hair off her face. "I have no intention of doing so."
"Good," Josh said, wandering off. His heart nearly shattered when he saw April bounding off of the tour bus, wearing one of his jerseys, knotted below her bust, and a pair of matching skintight bell-bottoms, jumping into Justin's arms, who was a few feet away waiting. He could see them laughing as he twirled her around. If there was anything he didn't feel like doing at that moment, it was trying to survive this tour. Gonna be a long, long tour, Johnson. He told himself sadly. Especially seeing her wear his shirts on dates with him.
"Pretty good opening night, eh, Josh?" One of *N Sync's dancers called to him.
"It's only opening night?" Josh asked, feeling his stomach turn.
