Chapter Two: In His Eyes

"I'm sorry, miss, but no tables are available. But there is a group that said you could sit with them for privacy until a table opens up for you." The waitress smiled politely, and you could tell she was genuinely sorry.

Lucky sighed and looked at Jon for approval. Jon nodded. "Alright, Ma'am, we'll do that. Thank you so much." Lucky was so tired.

The waitress led them to a table filled with five laughing boys, five men standing near-by looking very bodyguard-like.

When Lucky got close enough to hear what they were saying, she was surprised to hear someone telling a dirty knock-knock joke, one trying to go over the schedule, one talking about a girl, and two bleach-blondes talking about which salon in Orlando bleached best.

The five young men turned when the waitress cleared her throat, and Lucky realized these young men were actually the boys of *N Sync, another popular group.

"Jon!" The blonde, curly-haired one burst out.

"What?" The dark-haired one with protruding cheekbones asked the blonde.

"Hey Justin," Jon nodded at the blonde and Lucky looked on curiously. "JC, don't you remember me? Dang, skinny as ever, too!"

"Jon body-guard Jon?" JC asked.

"You're a quickie today, eh?" A man with dark hair and red tips grinned devilishly.

"Guys, this is Lucky. Lucky, that's Chris, Lance, JC, Justin, and Joey." Jon laughed.

"We know that's Lucky!" Joey burst out. "Justin knows real well!"

Justin's face burned red and he punched Joey's arm kind of hard.

"Justin Randall Timberlake!" One of the bodyguards called from the background in a high-pitched, whiny voice. "Be nice!"

Lucky immediately recognize it as an imitation of Britney Spears and watched in amazement as they all started laughing.

"Have a seat, Lucky," Justin stood, moved a chair over between his and Joey's, and held it for her, pushing it in as she sat.

Lucky scooted towards Justin and grinned, "Grab a chair, Jon!"

"Your bodyguard sits with you?" Chris asked, confused.

"Yeah, he's like a brother to me!" Lucky laughed as Jon pulled a chair over.

"You sure?" Jon asked.

"Positive, now sit your butt down!" Lucky grinned. Truth be told, Lucky was a lot more comfortable knowing her protector was within arms reach. They continue laughing and talking for about a half an hour before Lucky heard a sound she dreaded.

"Lucky!" A voice rang out through the restaurant. Lucky recognized it as Jack's, so she didn't turn around.

"Lucky, that guy's calling you," Chris innocently noted.

"I know, Chris, and I won't turn around," Lucky shrugged. "Maybe he'll think it's someone else."

"Right, Princess," Jon said sarcastically, but gently. "He'd know your body anywhere."

Justin raised his eyebrows to that and Jon elaborated. "He doesn't know the real Lucky, so I phrase it like that."

"The real Lucky," Justin repeated.

Justin smiled, seemingly relieved. Joey and Chris burst into laughter and Justin blushed. Lucky put on a confused face and looked back and forth between the three, as if not understanding.

Justin already knew Lucky better than that. He had found if you looked straight into her eyes, deep into them, you could see what she was thinking almost. And he knew, right then, when her gaze transferred to him, that she knew.

Lucky felt Justin's gaze sear deep into her soul, and she tried to pull her eyes away, but she couldn't. It was as if some magical force where holding her gaze on him.

And it wasn't all of him she was staring at, like most girls. It was straight into his eyes. His eyes alone mesmerized her. They were so bright and sparkling. She'd never seen a blue so clear before in her life. But as she knew Jack got closer, the got a little cloudy, then a little cloudier, until she could no longer see into his soul.

"Lucky!" Jack's voice seemed extremely harsh next to the way Justin had said her name. Well, practically sang it, in her opinion. And the other guys, who were watching, amused.

Jon signaled to another bodyguard and he stepped forward. Jon turned and pretended to be engrossed in a conversation with JC, who simply looked confused.

"Excuse me, Sir, but you don't have authorization to be back here," The bodyguard smiled somewhat menacingly at Jack. "Please remove yourself before I have to do so for you."

Lucky stared straight into Justin's eyes, pleading the clearness to return.

"But Lucky's my girlfriend!" Jack exclaimed.

"I'm sorry, sir, it's time for you to go," The bodyguard swiftly lifted Jack and carried him outside.

"Let's go to a club," Joey suddenly announced.

Lucky looked doubtfully at Jon, who simply nodded, a sly smile covering his face. He's got somethin' up his sleeve... Lucky thought
